G15 7EP 108803 I have a great passion for helping others live comfortably in their own homes. I assist clients with daily living tasks they can no longer perform personally due to illness, frailty or being affected with a physical disability, and mobility issues. I have supported clients who were affected with Dementia, Parkinson disease and some needed companionship as they are lonely in their homes. I have also supported clients who were depressed and were very anxious about life. As no two people are the same, I work using the Person - Centred Approach. I treat clients with dignity and respect. This means I respect their rights, wishes, and choices as long as they do not put them into harm or danger. I work adhering to Legislation and Policies and Procedures. I am a team player and have a listening ear, too. I bring smiles to my clients by appreciating them and treating them with respect and having time doing things the client wants and having cups of tea with cake or biscuits too. This helps to create a very good rapport. I love cooking and baking and sometimes try new things that clients want if I do know them, especially food as I am from Africa originally. I love making someone smile daily by supporting them in A Person -Centred Way as it is to their choice, not mine . I promote clients' independence, that is, letting them do what they can. I was a Primary School Teacher in Zimbabwe for over 22 years. I taught children from primary one up to seven. When I came to the UK, I decided to help older adults and went to university to train as a social worker. I chose to work with older adults as I had a lot of interest to be with my grandparents when I was young. I had a very good relationship with them. I have very good listening skills and respect others to talk before me. I hold a diploma in social work, and I supported the elderly when I was on placement and I enjoyed that so much, and this made me want to work as a Live-in-Carer. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

G5 9DE 131286 I am currently a self-employed live-in carer in Scotland. I am flexible and travel anywhere in Scotland. I do 3 weeks on and 1 week off but I am flexible to do less or more than that depending on my availability. I was previously employed as a personal Assistant. I am a very responsible, reliable, physically & mentally fit, kind, caring a great communicator and very passionate about caring for others. I have worked with vulnerable adults with dementia, chronic conditions, down syndrome, stroke, physical disabilities just to mention a few and I have provided end of life care as well. I have worked in a care home and a nursing home as well as a live-in carer, providing end of life care. I bring forth my extensive experience as a team player as well as working well unsupervised. I also have experience of anxiety and depression care gained over the years I worked as a health care assistant in the care and nursing homes. I have more than 4 years care experience altogether in the UK however, I also looked after my grandmother and paternal aunt who both required special care due to their health conditions for more than 10 years until my Nan sadly passed. Through this, I gained extensive care experience and it became a daily routine for me that I love to do effortlessly. I always had a passion for putting other people's needs first and I am big on promoting independence and making the next person feel included in everything in a conducive environment. I absolutely love pets. I had two dogs, a poodle and a jack Russell myself. My paternal aunt owned 2 dogs as well as 1 cat and they were part of the Family and still are. I do not have a car currently but, as I said at the beginning of my bio, I am very flexible for any distance across Scotland. I am fluent in both spoken and written English because it is our official (first language) in the country where I originally come from. I also speak Afrikaans and 2 other native languages from my country of origin Namibia. I love to make sure that my service users look and feel their best thus, I have experience in personal grooming, nail polishing, hair styling etc Most importantly, I like to ensure that service users feel included thus I love to come up with different initiatives for any kind of activities service users love to do and I ensure that they are hands on whenever possible. I am also someone that loves to be up to date with current affairs and therefore I love to initiate conversations and I have an amazing general knowledge. Besides having worked as a carer, I also worked in 2 of the biggest banks in my country Namibia (First National Bank Namibia and Standard Bank Namibia). I have an advanced Diploma (Equivalent to a a degree) in Banking, Finance and Credit. I started my career in the bank as a Financial Data Entry Clerk and worked my way up to Area Portfolio Manager which was my last posion in the banking industry before I came to the UK. I worked as a live-in carer in England providing end of life care until the service user sadly passed. Thank you so much for taking time to read my bio and please do not hesitate to contact me if you loved what you read and is in need of my services.
