M40 8PH 17006 Hi, im Portia. A mother of 3. Born in Zimbabwe came to the UK in 2002. Started care work in 2007 working as a domicillary worker. I did this through an agency until 2007. I studied access to nursing for 2years. I then went to Salford university and l have a diploma in higher education. In 2012 l started a degree in Health and community studies which l completed in 2015. Throughout my studies l was working as a home carer. I worked in many areas of care. I currently work with NHSP in Manchester part time and l do live in care, that is 24 hr care in client’s homes. This helps m clients to live and stay at hime for as long as they can. This also helped me to build trust, and good working relationship with my clients and l enjoy live in care. I have the ability to work as a lone worker. Throughout my work as a support worker l have gained skills such as communication, empathy, nun-judgemental, respect, listening and many more transferable skills. I have also gained experience in personal care, keeping peoples company, washing and dressing, medication administration, record keeping catheter care, bathing, toileting and other things that helps people live their everyday life and maintaining meaningful days. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life. I can also work with people individualy following their care plans. Since l came to the UK l have been working in care till this date and l dont see myself working in different field other than in care. Many thanks

M40 9DT 187864 Hi my name is Sandra, I have been a young carer since age 13 when my niece was born with a condition known as Cerebral Palsy. As I was living with my sister then, I helped in managing her care needs as well as activities of daily living. she was born partially blind, deaf, doesn't speak and also ended up in a wheelchair. As a carer I have got experiences in a diverse field eg hospital, care home, home care, community as well as school. I happen to be a great listener who understands the importance of service user' information strictly confidential. My aim is to encourage service user to do as much as they possibly can for themselves and not take away their independence as well as maintaining effective communication all times. I also know the importance of maintaining dignity, respecting their wishes and also considering their preferences. I can be quite flexible with time and rates depending on certain conditions.

M8 0TZ 85742 I am patient and funny. Get along with anyone from anywhere. I have helped care for a variety of ages and Illnesses, main ones being dementia all stages and mental health issues. Being able to make someone laugh when they are facing death is the hardest, but a very special time.
