In my time with the agency I gained experience working with MND, learning disabilities, Parkinsons, stroke, catheter care and late-stage dementia, among others. In May 2022 my friend had a stroke and I was invited by her family to move in and help her to recover. I lived with her as a carer and a friend until June 2023 when she sadly passed away. Since my friend's passing I have worked with a variety of clients through Curam, as well as with a private client from October until March this year. Up to this point my references have been uniformly positive. I have two 'Excellent' recommendations on Curam. I would describe myself as independent, conscientious and an organiser. If your environment is very cluttered or disorganised, this would need to be sorted out before I can start working with you. I have my own car and am happy to travel anywhere in the country for the right position. I do not charge clients for travel to or from placements. I have a full driving licence (manual and automatic) and am insured to take clients in my car. Please be aware that I ask clients to settle their invoices before work begins.  SM6 9LT 15708 I love looking after people and bringing a smile to their face, making them feel that they are supported, their dignity is maintained and they are as independent as possible while being safe and having their needs met. I am a very experienced carer. Excellent command of English as my first language, albeit with a South African accent, which I haven't lost, despite being back in the UK for 20 years! I've been involved in caring in a number of ways for 10 years. During this time I have looked after people from birth to over 100 years old, the oldest being 103, all with a variety of challenges, disabilities, personal quirks and individual requirements. I was a foster carer for children with global development delay, autism, blindness, learning difficulty as well as those suffering from neglect, abuse and trauma. I went on to do live in-care and have experience in advanced dementia, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, I also looked after a lady with paralysis from her neck down. I was involved in rehabilitation at a private hospital for those with brain injury and more recently did domiciliary care and worked in an upmarket residential home for assisted living. I am punctual, reliable, honest, caring, patient, calm and respectful. I can cook, have a good understanding of nutrition, allergy requirements and dietary needs.
