Initially I started working with autistic children in a school environment. Using tools associated with sensory integration to help relieve their anxiety. (Use of low stimulus environments, with the use of sensory lights for example.) After many years working in mental health services I have become passionate about supporting people who are challenged by mental ill health and learning disability. I find fulfilment in being involved in the patient’s journey to recovery. I am keen to expand my role in delivering this service and am ambitious to achieve a nursing degree in future   In terms of my own development I have enthusiastically pursued all learning opportunities open to me and continuously challenge myself to broaden my knowledge and understanding.
