SY43AS 250959 Hello I have been working for like 7 years as a carer. I always work with them to understand their needs, we do things together, encourage going for walks ή to explore or listen to their desire when they want their personal space. I have worked with early stages of dementia, paralysis, diabetics, at the end of their lives, cancer. I really like cooking, gardening , reading, museums, art, swimming, and the sea. I want to constantly learn new things, I like to travel In my free time (when I'm in Greece) I want to spend it in the sea) it relaxes me. Many thanks!

LL21 0TL 155176 I've been a live in carer for many agencies for 22yrs. I have also worked in hospital 3 yrs as a Healthcare assistant role. I love caring because I love seeing people been able stay home and have the care they need in their own homes and having their family and friends around them. I love cooking, was a chef before I came into care sector. My hobbies are knitting, watching tv. I am able to assist with chores around the house and light duties in garden. I'm a perfectionist, like to keep everything around me clean and neat. I'm a mother of 4 grown up children Have 10granchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. I'm a story teller and led an interesting life being 1 of 8 children myself. I speak English and Welsh.

HR5 3DJ 6248 My name is Elena and I'm 57 years old. I was born in Greece. My mother suffered from heart disorders. She's been operated five or six times. Lately she had a pacemaker, sugar blood and finally she passed away after a stroke. I am the first born child, always responsible to replace her where needed. I worked with my father too as a carpenter and run a family mini market business and a fast food restaurant later. I study electronics, I'm quite experienced at using computers. I did secretarial work and before I came to UK I was helping a friend with an upholstery lab at Chania. I was both a logistics and cutting forms assistant. I used to teach greek to foreign friends, always assisting others any way I could. Care is not just nursing and nutrition, it's the ability to feel and do what others need to be done. I developed sympathy for my companions, I'm a good listener and they say I always give good advice. I'm calm and caring in nature and always need to help someone. I believe that no one deserves to suffer and I am trying to do what's possible to relief others. I like music, dancing, traveling, writing poems, swimming, reading and cooking. I have lived in the UK for more than three years now (since October 2017), working as a live in carer. The cases I had so far were stroke, COPD, depression, arthritis, incontinent, dementia, aggressive behaviour, peg feed, cancer, diabetes, palliative care, cerebral palsy, brain injury, MND and MS. I'm good with hoisting. I don't drive and even though I love pets, I prefer not to work with them, mostly for security reasons.

HR6 8DW 234097 As a live in carer, I am an honest and dedicated person and never treat this work as work, usually I try to build a very friendly relationship and follow your habits and style of life. I started working in a nursing home in 2000 then 2003 I started to work as a live in carer, because I had a lot of experience from the nursing home. I gained experience with people with dementia, MS. Parkinson’s disease Motor Neuron Disease. I can use hoists and wheelchairs. I am self employed with all the necessary documents and references. The best for me is to work 3 months and one week off. I would be very pleased to assist a person who like’s going out. I have my own car and drive with clean licence. I have experience with end of life care, helping support clients and their families in these difficult times.

DY148TL 216026 I’m a passionate carer who enjoys my time spent with all of my clients. Having worked in care since 2018, I have worn many different hats within the industry, from live in carer to care manager and now moving back into the role of live in carer in order to facilitate time for studying and being with my family abroad, in between working roles. Having travelled and lived in many countries, I can support clients from all walks of life and those living with various conditions and varying needs. I have experience in supporting people living with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, victims of stroke, diabetes, those requiring support with moving and positioning (from walking aides to being hoisted), depression, anxiety, peg and stoma’s, clients who are at the end of their life and those who simply enjoy having some extra company in their own homes. I’m also happy to help with cooking, cleaning, shopping for the home and caring for any pets. For live in placements I would be happy to work throughout the whole of the UK I’m a car driver(automatic and manual transmission) with my own car. In my free time I love to go for walks, I adore nature and am currently trying to sharpen up my foraging skills so botany and gardening are a favourite of mine. I find puzzles to be therapeutic and I love to cook from scratch. I am currently working with a family and will only be available from 11th July 2024. My preference is to work for 4 to 6 weeks at a stretch and then take a few weeks breaks but I’m flexible so happy to discuss all options to find what works best for everybody.

LL14 2TS 64230 I've been a carer for over 30 yrs with my son who has cerebral palsy and has a learning disability and 3.5 years as a paidl carer. Having worked in care homes, domiciliary and one to one I have found the latter the most rewarding. Being able to treat individuals how I would want to be treated is how it should be. Everyone is different and so are their needs. A sense of humour is particularly important. I recently worked in palliative care and felt, although it was hard, it was good to be able to spend time with the person and give them the best care possible. Also I have worked with continence needs including catheters and convenes. I am quite happy to work with clients with pets but obviously that would be assessed on an individual basis, for example if a dogs who are aggressive. New skills are something I am prepared to learn. My availability daytime is Monday - Friday and overnights Sunday - Thursday. I would only expect travel expenses if the client was over 10mls away. At present I am working with a 95yr old gentleman with short term memory loss, mobility difficulties and a catheter. I visit for 3hrs a week and overnights when needed. Occasionally I help with personal care with an 83yr old gentleman when his carer is away and also a waking night with a lady with dementia. Being creative and music are important to me but I enjoy a wide variety of activities. At the moment I play Countdown with a gentleman who, although his short term memory has gone, is very good and also crosswords.

TF7 5ND 234670 Firstly, being a carer is a noble profession that requires compassion, patience, and dedication. It's a rewarding role that involves providing support to people who need it the most. I am someone who finds fulfillment in helping others. One reason why am a good carer is my natural inclination to be empathetic and compassionate towards others. I am able to put myself in the shoes of those you are supporting, understanding their emotional and physical needs. I also have excellent communication skills that will help me to build strong relationships with those I am caring for. Being able to listen and communicate effectively helps me to understand their needs better and provide them the best possible support. Furthermore, I am a patient person. Some care situations can be very unpredictable, and it's important to be able to remain calm and level-headed in whatever situation may arise. Above all, as a good carer, i am committed to the well-being of those i am caring for. Caring requires sacrifice, but it is a sacrifice worth making when it comes to enhancing the quality of life for others.
