I enjoy working closely with the elderly and others in need. I consider it a privilege and a joy to contribute to the happiness of others. I have extensive experience in all aspects of personal care, I enjoy cooking and have excellent organisational skills. I've taken clients shopping, to meet friends, trips outs, clubs and any excursions the clients wishes. I have a full UK clean driving licence. I love being outdoors, enjoy all aspects of nature, I like to swim, walk and I am fit and healthy. I love gardening, growing vegetables and cooking healthy and nutritious foods. I have 6 years of experience in caring (live-in as well). At the moment it's been nearly 5 years as I work in a nursing home as a deputy manager and senior care worker. I look after people with epilepsy, learning difficulties, autism, physical disability. I love people and I am full of respect for each person, I am also an assertive person. It is easy for me to get good contact with people I look after, I like our small talks, which give me brief information about the person and at the same time helps me to develop knowledge of the English language. I raised 3 children who are now adults. I should say that I am proud of them, but I will say that I am proud of myself that I raised them to be such valuable young people. I have a very good contact with children and teenagers :) I have a psychological and economic education, I am hardworking, well-organized, I make decisions quickly and I do not lose my temper in emergency or crisis situations. I'm based in Devon but I am also more than happy to travel. Most of my life has involved taking care of my family, first of all, my children, then later, my elderly parents, and recently my grandson. I decided to become a professional carer in 2021. I'm given the feedback that I am good at taking care of people and have a kind, professional and patient nature. I love the naturalness of the work and the daily routine. It makes me happy to help others to be happy. I'm hard working and I have worked in a variety of settings. Live-in care is what I love the most, it's such a lovely environment to be in. I enjoy keeping a home tidy and organised, also attending to any admin matters that are needed such as contacting medical services. I'm a nature lover at heart and especially enjoy working with clients who appreciate nature. My greatest amount of experience is with dementia and I feel very comfortable in that realm. I am experienced in end-of-life care. By the way, my background is in nutrition. While I am passionate about healthy eating I absolutely respect the wishes of my clients when it comes to dietary choices. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1, 4","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1, 4","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1, 4","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

TR7 3HJ 240612 Hello! My name is Melissa but you can call me Mel. I am a Mother of 2 daughters aged 15 and 12. I have 8 years experience in care in different aspect’s. I started my career in care in a small residential home and worked my way up to help to ensure the smooth running of the home by working closely with the homes Directors, Manager and Healthcare professionals such as Doctors, District Nurses, Community Psychiatrist Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and most importantly our lovely residents and their family! I now work out in the community caring and I have done this for the past 4 years and I really enjoy it. I work for a homecare company and I also care privately. I have built such lovely relationships with all those I care for and with their families too! I have experience, but not restricted too, working with the elderly, dementia, mobility issues, mental health, challenging behaviour and learning difficulties. I have my diploma in Health and Social Care and The Care Certificate. I am experienced in, and keep up to date with all relevant training such as Moving and Handling, Trips and Falls, Safeguarding, Food Safety, Medication, Dementia, End of Life, Pressure Care, Fire Safety and more. I am a friendly, reliable, trustworthy, compassionate and caring person by nature. I like to build a good rapport with those I care for and their family, I understand how difficult some situations can be and I may be able to offer you some support by caring for yourself or your loved one to enable you to continue with day to day tasks, work commitments or needing a load taken off - I understand! I am passionate about delivering high standards of care and I have a good understanding of individuality - not ‘one size fits all!’ I treat those I care for with upmost respect, dignity and confidentiality. I love to help others and to put a smile on others faces where I can, I find this really rewarding and it gives me a good sense of achievement. I love doing what I do and visiting my lovely customers, it doesn’t feel like ‘work’ to me. Employer references and customer references available on request. TQ13 7DT 131980 Hello, I'm 46 and a keen motorcyclist. Originally from South Africa, I've lived in Devon for almost 26 years now. I've worked in various trades, picked up many skills and dealt with many different scenarios. I spent a decade in Hospitality, from waitress to barmaid, receptionist through to managing restaurants, kitchen manager and head chef, ran a bed n breakfast, ran pubs, clubs and outdoor events. I've been a security guard, fire marshall and even a bouncer. I've worked as a hospital bedwatch officer for 2 years with patients needing 24 hour supervision who were at risk of harming themselves or others, due to psychosis, drug and alcohol detox, awaking from a coma, dementia, learning or  developmental difficulties, self harming, suicide attempts, eating disorders or other mental health issues. I've also learnt about a myriad of complimentary therapies managing a holistic health clinic for 3 years. In the summer months, I often still work as Night Manager for Welfare at numerous festivals working alongside medics and security to help distressed folks needing care, support and advice, whether that's from dehydration and heat exhaustion, drugs or alcohol misuse, domestic violence, sexual assault or having a mental health crisis. We're  also responsible for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. As I usually work 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, I try to coincide my festival work on the weeks I'm not doing care. I will consider doing 3 weeks on, 1 week off if needs be. In the past I have been a Private Carer for a lady for the last three years of her life with complex needs due to her Ehlers Danlos (hypermobility type), leading to frequent dislocations and subluxations of her joints, gastroparesis and epilepsy. She was fed through total parental nutrition directly through her vena cava into her heart and so I was responsible for administering medication through her PEG, domiciliary help and personal care 3 to 4 days a week to give her children and carer some respite. I've also given 6 months full time palliative care to a gentleman with COPD and stage 4 lung cancer, taking care of all his private administration, organising his medication schedules, nutrition and hydration, assisted with personal care and accompanied him to his chemotherapy treatments and hospital appointments. Recently, I've worked in Home Care for 2 years, visiting clients in their own homes helping around the house, prompting or administering medication, giving personal care, supporting with mobility, moving and handling, stoma and catheter care, assisting with washing and dressing, companionship, cooking meals, doing gardening and getting shopping in. I've been doing Live-in Care for about a year or so, doing much the same. My colleagues and clients describe me as trustworthy, patient, understanding, compassionate, friendly, resourceful and organised. My friends would describe me as honest, reliable, creative, sociable and funny. I love riding my motorcycle, enjoy various boardgames, watching films and make leathercrafts to sell online in my spare time. I love dancing and singing along to my favourite music. I enjoy camping, swimming and walking. I like meeting people and making new friends, sharing new memories and experiences together. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to meeting you and helping you wherever I am able to. Have a wonderful day! Please note: I ask for double pay on National Bank Holidays and a contribution of £30 per week towards food if working in a live-in situation. Thank you for your understanding. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}
