Minimum hours for day care is 4 hrs per shift . Hello my name is Nicola and i have been a kind, caring, conscientious and considerate carer/support worker for many years putting the welfare of clients first and enjoying the sociable nature of this type of work, meeting new people and consider it a privilege to support and help others. I can offer a care/ companionship role with clients who are mainly elderly and frail and who may still want to enjoy a full life of their choosing. Equally, i am just as happy to support people who are more home bound and less active but might appreciate bringing activities to the home to enhance the quality of their lives, such as art and crafts, flower arranging, cookery etc. Gardening and caring for house plants is often very beneficial and rewarding hobbies/activities. Or listening to others life stories . I am willing and able to offer personal caring skills in a respectful manner, if needed and i appreciate that a persons health care needs may fluctuate from day to day. Some people may be vulnerable to certain types of health issues which need to be noticed and acted upon such as UTI's ,or constipation which can cause sudden changes in behaviour both psychological and physical therefore I also believe that these things can be avoided by good care management using relevant skills and knowledge. Assisting clients in a respectful, warm and understanding manner is important to me and i can offer a wide range of experience and a comprehensive skills. I am experienced in working awake night duties, supporting clients to maintain their night time / morning routines and any care needs which could include assisting with washing and dressing, accessing the toilet facilities during the night, support with any pain relief , falls prevention, snack or drinking needs which they may require during the night in order to help settle them back to bed for sleep or rest. Pressure sore prevention . Companionship and reassurance. Generally being available & close by should assistance be required. Sleep Over Care _ 9pm to 9am hours negotiable. . This type of care can provide that extra sense of night time safety & security especially for those who may be feeling vulnerable or wanting that extra bit of night time comforting presence within their own home . Sleep over care can be useful to provide assistance with morning and evening routines helping you to feel ready and prepared for the day ahead and then again , at night, quietly settled with a sleep promoting evening routine, safe in the knowledge that someone is close by should any need arise. . Sleep over cover can be from 1 sleep over per week up to 7 again shared with one or two other carers if required. I have enjoyed working within Health and Social Care settings for over 20 years within a variety of settings and taking on various roles from basic care work to managerial taking responsibility for teams of care workers/support staff and overseeing the welfare of vulnerable adults. Some of the duties have included care planning, manual handling assessments, medication rounds, leasing with GP's , Nurses and other primary health care professionals such as OT"s , Physiotherapists, Care Managers, Dentists, Opticians , Audiology, Chiropody, Dieticians and any other specialist health care providers who's input can all help towards ensuring a good quality of life for the person in need of help or support . I also have past experience working within range of mental & social health care settings ( NHS and Private Hospital, Residential Social Services & Private Care Homes , Charity Sectors ) which has always given me a good understanding of the psychological aspect of caring for others who may be in distress or struggling for one reason or another with aspects of their psychological and emotional well-being. I have also very much enjoyed 24 hour shifts supporting adults with mild learning disabilities who are living in small group residential homes and some larger residential homes as well as this I also have also had experience supporting people within independent living schemes. I have also experience of managing and planning day care activities for older persons as well as initiating arts and crafts activities for other vulnerable client groups as part of my role as a support worker. I also helped set up and run a monthly carers support group for relatives caring for loved ones as this role can become isolating for carers. I enjoy working in accordance with the needs and wishes of the client and I am very happy to work within their own routines and come from a person centred perspective putting a clients needs first. I am also available to provide respite care for regular carers breaks or fill in for periods of sickness. I am happy to provide short term home from hospital live in care as well or to provide live in support at those times when extra input may be needed for the short term such as during short term illness. I am a non smoker, rarely consume alcohol . I enjoy cooking healthy and nutritious meals in accordance with clients needs and preferences, am happy to plan healthy, freshly cooked meals. My personal interests are enjoying nature, walking, drawing and painting , photography mainly nature during my walks, yoga , visiting cafes for coffee and cake , gardening , flower arranging, caring for pets , enjoying observing , listening to and providing food for the garden birds. I am a member of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. I AM FOND OF PETS BUT DUE TO ALLERGY UNABLE TO WORK WITH INDOOR FELINE'S. I would be happy to carry out a preliminary visit to work out with you an individual care plan taking fully into account your routines, needs and wishes before any placement begins. This also gives you a chance to meet me and decide if you feel that we would be a good working match for each other and your situation. How much support you may or may not need with everyday activities of living such as washing and dressing, pain management, mobility , eating and drinking, your likes and dislikes in terms of daily/weekly meal planning. In fact everything that you do through out the day or any needs you have such as medication reminders, physical exercise such as short walks outside or places you like to visit. Travel/ vehicle expenses @ .40 per mile paid by separate agreement to be paid as per Google maps mileage calculator. All Bank holidays : are charged at double time . i.e. Christmas day , Boxing day etc , Easter , Christmas Week and New Year weeks are charged at an enhanced rate i.e. time and a third. Payment to be paid into the Curam holding account before the commencement of any shift. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your care requirements and how i may be of help . Warm Wishes and Kind Regards , Nicky. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"4, 5, 3"}

CT16 1QS 275032 I have 5+ years of experience in care and have had the privilege of caring for many wonderful people and I also have cared for some until their passing. I believe that every individual requires to be given support through their conditions with dignity and respect and to also be supported to have a fulfilling life in whichever stage they may be of their life. At the heart of all care is the individual first and making sure their care needs are met. I strongly believe in person centred care. I also have supported other carers about health and safety when supporting our service users. These are some of my strengths and also knowing that kindness, compassion, honesty come naturally when i know that caring for others is my calling. I also have learnt to stay calm and level headed when faced with challenges as sometimes challenges may arise. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

CT11 7PG 125992 My name is Ngarita (the g is silent so Na ri ta is how you pronounce my name) Im originally from New Zealand but have lived in the UK for over 25 years. I have always been involved with caring for people who are vulnerable from my first years of working with both adults and children who had special needs, physical and mental disabilities to changing my path to care and support elderly clients or those recovering from operations and illnesses to end of life to help people to remain in their own home. I have experience from companionship to caring for people with dementia and the challenges that that may bring. I enjoy working with multi disciplinary teams to deliver care and I have also been responsible for managing teams of carers in a placement if needed such as in 24 hour care. I'm very happy to accompany clients on outings, appointments etc if public transport or other means is available and appropriate. I have my UK drivers licence for an automactic. I'm looking for daily/nightly care but will consider a week or two for respite live in. I'm happy to travel for example to London from Kent if the hours are for longer periods i.e a day and/or sleeper duty/nights or respite live-in. Happy to accompany you should you want to go on holiday and need a companion or need someone to accompany you to your destination to join others. The rates displayed are a guide line and the basis for Monday to Friday day rates. Weekends are usually a little more per hour and also bank holidays will be charged at a double rate. Rates open for discussion ie if 24 hour live out cover is required then the rate could be lower. I love to travel and are very interested in other cultures, the arts, sport......love watching sport. Love the outdoors especially being by the coast. I enjoy cooking and food so are capable of producing nutritious meals. Shopping running errands. Happy to do light housework and even mow the lawn if needed. I've been described as laid back but able to step up when needed. Firm but fair. Fun with humour and more than capable. Supportive and caring with empathy. I'll be there to encourage you to do as much as you can and are capable of doing. Or if you just need some companionship and security for you to remain at home Im more than happy to be that companion. I can look after you if your recovering after an operation and or illness. I also have like mentioned earlier experience in End of Life/Palliative Care and can be there for you and or a loved one to support and care for you/them through this time. When your new to arranging care it can be quite daunting...with my help and experience it doesnt need to be. I can be there to help take the worry away and make the transition into care as smooth as possible. Please do contact me if you think I maybe of help or you want to know anything else. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"4, 5, 3"}

CT15 4BX 281260 Its my desire to treat people in my care with respect, dignity and with the best care as per my training and experience. Being a Carer is taking heed of my clients needs and wishes and to do my best to perform them, making the environment a pleasant one for both the client and myself. I am patient and kind, compassionate and am able to work with people from all different departments in the total care of my client including their families. I am happy to work in a home with animal, cats or dogs as I have always had animals, although I am a cat lover, as I wanted my kids to grow up with them and when coming to UK, I flew my daughters cat over to the UK to be with us. I like cooking easy and nutritional foods for my clients, I would sit down with them and discuss what they would like to eat and do my best to make it. Another thing of importance is being able to take my clients out into the community to mix socially or to visit friend or attend church. On waking my client in the morning with a smile and a cheerful demeanor, is very important, making sure they are ready to proceed with the daily tasks and personal care, having meals and spending time doing what they like, crosswords or puzzles, or just chatting. I would naturally do what is required of me according to the clients care plan, making sure they are taking their medication as indicated. Mostly it will be following my clients lead and always getting their consent and the right to choose if they are mentally capable, but at the same time making sure that I have some down time to rest and do what makes me happy, such as a hobby, reading, a walk. Its necessary for me to have a 2 hour break each day. There will be a surcharge if I have to get up twice at night and if this occurs a lot, I would contact a family member and arrange for them to help me get some extra rest and recharge, because this will ensure than I can work at my full potential. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":"3"}

I am constantly reminded of how fulfilling my job is when I meet individuals and families who I can make a difference to their lives. Naturally, I always find myself doing whatever it takes to ensure the person I am assisting is not only comfortable but also happy in general. I believe that I have a lot of skills to offer, being a younger person too. I have been in care for 4 years and have worked for two agencies during that time. This has meant that over this period of time, I have worked with across multiple homes and with hundreds of individuals allowing me to be able to gain a huge amount of experience as well as mastering the skill of adapting to new environments constantly. I also am very energetic and have a passion for cooking and reading. I have just finished my undergraduate degree in English literature and now plan to take some time out to work before going on to do a masters. I have a lot of free time to offer and can be called on short notice too which I feel is a huge advantage for a client. CT20 2PT 5663 I am a carer with over 10 years experience. I worked for one family only for over 6 years. I was in charge of a large house and was trusted the management of the household supervising other staff. I was in charge of the care of the father of the owner. He suffered from Alzheimers but remained in family home up to the end of his life. I cared for him, managing his medication, dressing, accompanying him to outings and hospital appointments. I slept in at the house whilst the owners were working abroad. More recently I have been caring for a 100 year old through a private contact sleeping in the house. This job started as a once a week companionship and was gradually increased to ’job share’ with the client’s daughter one week on/one week off sleeping in the house and cooking a hot evening meal. This has enabled the client to remain independent in her own home. The client has now moved to live with the her family. I completed a week’s training course with Nurse+ and consequently worked in my local Community as a carer before my private employment. Recently I have cared for a lady with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. I have completed my Health Education England, skills for care and Skills for health Certificate. I am a multi linguist and foreign languages are my passion. I worked for a diplomatic overseas service. I speak fluent spanish, french and finnish. I have gained a Diploma in french language and In my spare time I offer language lessons to private individuals. I go to local sports centre regularly to work out and I enjoy swimming too. My strength is my vast experience in the care sector. I am patient, cheerful and calm under pressure. I enjoy working with elderly and my own interest in current affairs and knowledge of different countries and cultures has helped in conversations with adults that I have cared for. I am physically able and in excellent health which helps when caring for a vulnerable person. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":"0","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":"0","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":"0","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":"0"}
