I then decided to have a change of career and commenced employment in the Pharmaceutical Industry, until I retired. I started work as a carer soon after retiring and have acquired a great deal of experience over the years. I am practical, reliable and hard-working. My enthusiasm for helping and caring for others has enabled me to build up successful relationships with clients and their families. I should now prefer to remain within a reasonable distance of my home in Lincoln, My hobbies include gardening, cooking (especially cake-making) and holidaying in Europe whenever possible. false

PE36 6LH 271558 I’m friendly, compassionate, and sensible carer with four years’ caring experience behind me. I have a great sense of humour, but I take my job very seriously. The most important aspect of it, is to keep my clients safe and sound in their own homes. We don’t need infections and bugs. The easiest way to get those, is to go to hospital. So, minimising the risk of falls and infections is paramount. I have experience with dementia, spinal injury, catheter use, and for the past nine months, I have been closely involved with Parkinson's. For this condition, I understand the use of the specialised, time sensitive medication, moving and handling with hoists, swallowing challenges, and the use of exercises to improve mobility issues. However, if I was called upon to look after a client with a condition that I’m not familiar with, I am willing to learn new skills. I’m adept at dealing with surgeries, district nurses, physios, and occupational therapists, and I'm familiar with many types of equipment that can make a client’s life easier. I also believe in getting out of the house where possible, to events or socialising, or even if it’s just a walk with the client around the garden, or up and down the road. My cooking skills are really good, and I can produce not only traditional British meals, but even more exotic stuff. I believe in using fresh produce, and I don’t take the lazy way out by using frozen ready meals. I’m happy to travel throughout the UK, however, if distances are considerable, I would look to recover travel expenses. Should there be excessive night calls, there would be a surcharge. I am happy to work periods of 1 to 4 weeks at a time, but suggest a settling in initial period of a week or two, to get to know each other. I have established great relationships and friendships with my clients, and I believe that I have added an injection of happiness and positiveness into their lives. This in turn has touched me, bringing a lot of self-satisfaction into my own life. Should you be interested in my services, please contact me, and I will get back to you promptly. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

PE317UD 204580 AVAILABILITY: SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS & Public Holidays in Norfolk Area I am taking a sabbatical from my nursing career and currently working as GP Admin. I have been a caregiver all my life, looking after family, friends and loved ones that fell ill. Current responsibilities in my role as caregiver is to provide full care to my clients in the comfort of their own home. Throughout my experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in South Africa, I always took great pride in providing the best evidenced-based care to my customers, clients and patients. I specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care for many years and although I am devoted to the new-borns, my other love is of the elderly. In my new role as carer, I find great joy in connecting with my client in a purposeful and meaningful way that brings about a great sense of fun and laughter, whether through creative outlets, or reading a war novel that is gripping and heart-wrenching page-turner, or an autobiography of David Attenborough (whom I love) and Janet Gooddall (‘My Life with the Chimpanzees’). I am currently reading a novel on true events by Kate Thompson ‘The Little Wartime Library’ to clients, and this has provided hours of entertainment, discussions and lots of memories shared. Cooking and baking is a favourite pastime, and together with my nursing skills, I am a valuable team member in any household. My personality traits would be considered confident, thoughtful, trustworthy, friendly, modest, humble, patient, empathetic, respectful, reliable and sensitive to the needs of others. My client’s daughter recently wrote this to me - ‘You were so important to my mum and I will always be grateful for the major role you had in keeping her safe and happy in the last months of her life’. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"0","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"0","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"0","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"0"}
