PR6 0LR 217855 Compassionate care assistant with 7 years of experience in providing high-quality care. I am versatile, adaptable and enjoy being challenged, I work hard and am very dependable. I work well in a team but am equally confident acting on my own.  My greatest virtues are my patience and my genuine compassion for those in my care, no matter how testing the circumstances might be.  I have worked with patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and came to understand their frustration at being unable to communicate effectively. I have worked for an agency where i was given responsibility for the care of an adult with tetraplegia, who suffered from emotional and cognitive disabilities which sometimes manifested themselves in challenging behaviour. My Ambition to becoming a carer has developed out of my own work experience and a growing sense that my own personal fulfilment lies in serving those who are most vulnerable. Outside of my care job i love , reading, going for walks and cooking. I have received numerous compliments for cooking nutritious, tasty meals for patients. Please get in touch if you think I could help you.” false

Growing up as a child I used see my mother taking care of my grandmother as she was getting old and she couldn't support herself. I really appreciated my mother so much because this is where I learned to care for other people in need. I grew up in Zimbabwe, In 2007 I moved to South Africa where I got a job as a carer working privately looking after a lady in her 50s, she had kidney failure. I used to take her to Dialysis 3 times a week and other hospital appointments. I used to do all household chores as well as personal care, I worked for the family for 5years until she passed away that was the reason for leaving. In 2016 I moved to the UK to settle with my family and take time out to decide on my career plan, I realised that my passion lies in helping others. I got a job in 2016 August doing home care, looking after elderly clients in their own homes. Duties included : shopping, personal care, hospital appointments, administering medication, feeding, hoisting, cooking and many more duties. Because my passion is to help people with different age groups and different needs, I decided to look for a job elsewhere but still in the caring industry. I wanted to gain more experience and expand my knowledge in the caring industry. I worked for an agency, where I worked in different nursing homes, I must say I loved it as I gained my confidence and wider knowledge. The job was challenging but I really enjoyed it as it made me stronger and a better carer. 2017 I got a job where I’m currently working and it’s still in care, I do work as a support worker. I look after people with learning disabilities with different age groups, I really enjoy it, duties include : personal care, shopping and day to day activities, administering medication and cooking. I love cooking and in my culture we get taught how to cook when we are young so cooking is not an issue my husband is English so I can cook English food and African meals. I have also started preparing to go to university next year to study nursing. It was always my dream to be a qualified nurse so that I can expand my knowledge in health care industry, and I am also willing to learn new things During my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends, eating out and going to the cinema. Going out with my friends allows me an opportunity to make new friends and meet new people. As a sociable person I would relish the chance to utilise these skills in a professional context. I have experience of working with clients that have had catheters and stoma's fitted, this has been learned on the job no formal qualifications have been achieved. 2 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"4"}
