WN2 2BU 3541 For over ten years I worked as a support worker for my local social services . This job required a number of key skills e.g. keeping financial records, up-to-date diary records, ensuring health and safety in the work place, dispensing of medicines and supporting individuals with various disabilities in their home. This was a full time post. Were I gained many new skills including moving and handling. Also assisting the individual with their everyday needs and activities whether that was attending a medical appointment or just getting out for exercise and a change of scenery. I feel I am relaxed and easy to get along with. I am able to prioritise work and problem solve well. I can work as part of a team but also just as good on my own. I found the work challenging and rewarding. I enjoy many different social activities such as walking/rambling driving and visiting places. I also enjoy sports and playing the guitar, also keeping my mind and hands busy learning new skills. PR1 7HT 87314 Whilst studying Community and Social Care: policy and Practice at University in 2012 I worked as domiciliary home care as well as bank nursing staff in care and nursing homes. I moved into specialist dementia care in 2014 working for a charity as a support worker; supporting service users to engage with others and facilitating therapeutic activities. In 2019 I moved into management and ran one dementia day service before taking on a second site in 2021. Working with health professionals, mental health services, other dementia services, GP'S and social workers I assisted the organisation to develop and implement support plans and dementia scoring systems to monitor cognitive function. I have a deep understanding of dementia of all forms as well as supporting individuals with acquired brain injury. I am both a personal assistant and carer and am able to provide daily living support such and personal care, as well as providing therapeutic activities to stimulate the mind. I am willing and able to do housework tasks, meal preparation- cooking balanced and nutritious meals as i also have a history of working in catering, am food hygiene compliant and COSHH trained. I can support individuals to go out into the community to enjoy hobbies and activities, for a coffee or for shopping as i have business and personal insurance cover for this purpose. Between 2022 and 2024 i worked in a primary school as a general teaching assistant, as well as being a 1-1 support for children with autism and SEN who required additional support following EHCPs. I have supported children from the age of 1 years old, up to adults aged 99 with a range of medical conditions and have an up to date DBS on the online system relevant for working with both adults and children. I am also a mother to 2 girls, aged 11 and 15, my 15 year old daughter has mobility difficulties and other additional needs as well as ASD. I try to fit in as many clients as possible for regular visits, but do also have to balance around my children, so am unable to provide overnight care. Please dont hesitate to enquire about availability and dates and times. I predominantly work between the hours of 9am and 3/4pm childcare and school term dependant. I am unable to commit to overnights and short notice care due to childcare. I try to respond as soon as possible to client messages, normally within the same day, i may not see them immediately if i am working or with my children.
