PE36 6LH 271558 I’m friendly, compassionate, and sensible carer with four years’ caring experience behind me. I have a great sense of humour, but I take my job very seriously. The most important aspect of it, is to keep my clients safe and sound in their own homes. We don’t need infections and bugs. The easiest way to get those, is to go to hospital. So, minimising the risk of falls and infections is paramount. I have experience with dementia, spinal injury, catheter use, and for the past nine months, I have been closely involved with Parkinson's. For this condition, I understand the use of the specialised, time sensitive medication, moving and handling with hoists, swallowing challenges, and the use of exercises to improve mobility issues. However, if I was called upon to look after a client with a condition that I’m not familiar with, I am willing to learn new skills. I’m adept at dealing with surgeries, district nurses, physios, and occupational therapists, and I'm familiar with many types of equipment that can make a client’s life easier. I also believe in getting out of the house where possible, to events or socialising, or even if it’s just a walk with the client around the garden, or up and down the road. My cooking skills are really good, and I can produce not only traditional British meals, but even more exotic stuff. I believe in using fresh produce, and I don’t take the lazy way out by using frozen ready meals. I’m happy to travel throughout the UK, however, if distances are considerable, I would look to recover travel expenses. Should there be excessive night calls, there would be a surcharge. I am happy to work periods of 1 to 4 weeks at a time, but suggest a settling in initial period of a week or two, to get to know each other. I have established great relationships and friendships with my clients, and I believe that I have added an injection of happiness and positiveness into their lives. This in turn has touched me, bringing a lot of self-satisfaction into my own life. Should you be interested in my services, please contact me, and I will get back to you promptly. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

PE317UD 204580 AVAILABILITY: SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS & Public Holidays in Norfolk Area I am taking a sabbatical from my nursing career and currently working as GP Admin. I have been a caregiver all my life, looking after family, friends and loved ones that fell ill. Current responsibilities in my role as caregiver is to provide full care to my clients in the comfort of their own home. Throughout my experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in South Africa, I always took great pride in providing the best evidenced-based care to my customers, clients and patients. I specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care for many years and although I am devoted to the new-borns, my other love is of the elderly. In my new role as carer, I find great joy in connecting with my client in a purposeful and meaningful way that brings about a great sense of fun and laughter, whether through creative outlets, or reading a war novel that is gripping and heart-wrenching page-turner, or an autobiography of David Attenborough (whom I love) and Janet Gooddall (‘My Life with the Chimpanzees’). I am currently reading a novel on true events by Kate Thompson ‘The Little Wartime Library’ to clients, and this has provided hours of entertainment, discussions and lots of memories shared. Cooking and baking is a favourite pastime, and together with my nursing skills, I am a valuable team member in any household. My personality traits would be considered confident, thoughtful, trustworthy, friendly, modest, humble, patient, empathetic, respectful, reliable and sensitive to the needs of others. My client’s daughter recently wrote this to me - ‘You were so important to my mum and I will always be grateful for the major role you had in keeping her safe and happy in the last months of her life’. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"0","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"0","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"0","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"0"}

I do have several years of experience with cancer and how it can affect someone and their loved ones on multiple levels. This is an area that I particularly feel drawn to work in. I provide balanced, experienced care and cover throughout medical, therapeutic, holistic, palliative/end of life. I liaise with GPs, social workers, acute care teams, and district nurses with ease. I can efficiently run an entire household while balancing medical needs too if so required. I am happy to provide advanced family liaison and support 24/7. I have worked for many years in special needs and education, primarily with students with Autism. I worked in complex care as a specialist enabler for a local council 2021-2024. I contracted my services also with a renowned solicitors company in Plymouth. I have worked for three professional families in Cornwall and have impeccable references. I can cook for all food/dietary preferences and believe that when ill good food and fluids are very beneficial. I am excellent in attending to and stabilising needs across multiple levels rapidly. I have excellent feedback from all my clients. I was a community health nurse in Alaska and Florida for many years. My clinical rotations included post op care, oncology, palliative, orthopaedic, dementia, obstetrics and mental health. I also provided respite care to families with special needs children/young persons. I can use PECS, some Makaton and some sign language. I am also trained in Applied Behaviourial Analysis. I am very hard working, compassionate and want to make a difference to others in need. I have a very positive personality and truly love working with special needs individuals. I drive and have a reliable car. Willing to travel out of my area, Norwich, but I do require mileage/time allowance agreement. Mileage costs are pre-agreed by both parties and listed in the service agreement. Initial meeting is to see if its a good fit for both client and carer is typically 1 hour. This initial 1 hour meeting is billed on the initial invoice attached to the service agreement. I can then stay longer if required on this initial meeting and bill for additional hours on the following invoice. Weekend cover is set at a slightly higher rate than standard quoted day rates. I love to wild swim and hike and use my art degree to create unique art pieces. I wish to establish limited regular clients for enabling/support. Nights, alternate weekend shifts can be agreed on request. Live-in temporary contracts can be considered. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":null,"field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":null,"field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":null,"field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":null}
