BN2 3HE 232732 ** Please note, I am away & unavailable from 16th February - 17th March 2025, but please do enquire for any last minute care prior to those dates, or for any long-term care required for after those dates. Thank you.** Hello, I'm Marianne, though most people call me Maz or Mazzy. I am a very experienced carer with over 10 years experience working across domiciliary care, in a care home, and also on a private, personal basis. I have worked with adults of mixed ages but predominantly the older generation. I have a huge respect for older people and I absolutely love helping them live as independently as possible in their own homes. I am compassionate, patient, have a sense of humour (I think/hope), and am a naturally positive person who is often said to have brightened my clients days. I am observant, thorough, proactive, and have a keen eye for detail, so I will always try to go above and beyond to ensure my clients are as comfortable, happy and content as they can be in their given situations. I am a friendly and sociable person and have been told that I'm easy to get along with. I provide kindness to all my clients, and also endeavour to make sure that the dignity of those I'm caring for is preserved. I have extensive hands-on experience in the following aspects of care, and am currently in the process of updating my official certifications for these: Medicine Administration, following Health & Safety, COSHH (handling of chemicals and hazardous substances), Manual Handling, Dementia Care, and more recently completed the Care Certificate. I have a clean Enhanced DBS, a full clean driving licence with Business Insurance and car which I am happy to take you out in. My car is regular height and so easy to get in and out of, and can fit in foldable walking aids and wheelchairs. Petrol milage is additionally charged at 50p per mile. I am also comfortable to escort and assist on trips away if required. I have a wide spectrum of experience from personal care, washing and toilet assistance, to cooking well balanced and nutritional meals, assisting with physio exercises (if given by a certified physiotherapist), taking to appointments, to medicine administration and also palliative care... I feel it is a true honour & privilege to be able to assist a person, and their family, during the end stage of their life. I am comfortable around most animals (no pet spiders though, sorry!), but love almost any other creatures and so am more than happy to assist in looking after these too. I have a huge interest in people, humans really are great! I also love nature, walks, live music, wildlife, poetry, animals, arts, plants, the sky, helping people, jewellery making, crafts, reading. I offer hourly availability, as well as sleep-ins and waking nights. As well as this, I could part-time live-in for just a few days per week, or ad-hoc shorter stints of live-in care if required eg. to cover holidays or respite, so please do get in touch if you have any specific time needs that aren't listed in my profile, it's always worth asking and if I can help then I will. The boring bit (charges & cancellantion explained): -Cancellation policy- unless emergency, minimum 48hrs before scheduled visit. Within 48hrs= half charge. Within 24hrs= full charge). -The minimum visit time is 1hour. I always use the full time to offer help with anything around the house etc, or even just to have a chat, so unless a client really doesn't want or need anything else and says they don't want me there any more, then I always stay until the full arranged time. - If visit time is unpredictable eg. going to appointments, then after the initial hour, time is charged up to the next 15minutes. - mileage when driving clients to places is 50p per mile - for clients located further afield than central Brighton, £1 per mile is charged to allow for travel time. *Please note, I will be unavailable from 15th Feb - 16th March 2025*. Thank you for reading, I look forward to hearing from you, Maz.

BN1 5PA 202751 My name is Giuseppe, I am a 38 years old, I am Italian and have been living and working in Brighton for the past 15 years. I love sports, especially climbing, beach volleyball and ping pong, cooking and have a passion for music and filmmaking. Friendly, fun and professional, with excellent communication skills, and an approachable personality that people respond well to. I have developed integrity, tact and diplomacy in dealing with people, demonstrating patience and good listening skills to identify the needs of others. I am well travelled and have a broad skill base built up over a number of years working alongside people of all ages and of differing levels of ability. I am patient and can remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour. There have been numerous occasions when it has been important for me to quickly build rapport with vulnerable people and with those who display behaviour which challenges some people. I have acquired the ability to work on my own initiative, using my personal skills, engaging and relating well to people of all ages, ethnicity and background. I have been trained to respond calmly, quickly and appropriately to emergencies or problems and to follow guidelines and procedures as set out by my employer. In my current job as Support Worker I work within a large team to achieve a shared goal or outcome in an effective way, actively listening to other members of the team, supporting struggling team mates and generally working and communicating with positivity. I have worked well within a team but also have shown the skills, resourcefulness and motivation to work on my own using my initiative and creativity. I have the personal resilience and the right skills to see problems as challenges, make the right choice and learn and develop from my experiences. I have also successfully communicated and liaised with many multidisciplinary teams such as speech and language therapists, behaviour support teams, community learning disability team (CLDT), psychiatrists, physios, as well as many other health services, using telephone, emails, or in person. My role as support worker can be defined as supporting six vulnerable young adults in the autistic spectrum with challenging behaviours who are continuously at significant risk of harm because of their complex needs. I have proved to be dealing calmly while making decisions during unpredictable and challenging situations, showing respect and treating people with dignity at all times. Having great problem solving skills, creativity and emotional intelligence enabled me to analyse the situation quickly and to make solid decisions during those complex circumstances. During my 13 years of experience working with people with learning difficulties I have always kept a non-confrontational approach, choosing to discuss difficult issues and finding common ground and a workable solution to differences of opinion, and adapted the way I communicate to the needs of the individual. Working as Personal Assistant/Respite Worker with a teenager with FASD (Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) and other related issues, for example, I have learnt to communicate using calm soft voice, indirect command, consistent and concise language, giving clear, short sequential directions and instructions, follow up to check his understanding, leaving time and pauses to help him process information, responding to developmental rather than chronological age when stressed. I have been working with him for the past 4 years by now, providing a playful, flexible, calm, consistent presence to help him feel safe and build a trusted relationship, through which he can practice social skills, physical and emotional regulation, impulse control, problem-solving and conflict avoidance and resolution. I have been helping him avoid social isolation by identifying new opportunities, finding new hobbies and joining social activities which are welcoming and offer a good level of inclusion/integration. I have supported him to establish safe, positive relationships within their community and helped him to achieve more independence and improve on his established life skills. At Club my excellent written and verbal communication skills enabled me to support a wide range of people including unaccompanied asylum seekers who were initially not able to speak English, young people in care, elderly people, children/adults with persistent behavioural difficulties and those with learning difficulties. I have worked for about 7 years as Head Coach and have run table tennis sessions independently or with other coaches/volunteers for large groups of players in schools and in prisons; I have been on a number of residential trips with groups of disenfranchised young people and I have attended four trips to Sweden and Germany with a team of adults with learning disabilities as part of an Erasmus+ exchange project encouraging cultural exchange and providing opportunities for players with disabilities. Through my work at Club I have shown that I can engage people of any background, age, nationality or social standing. I have also demonstrated great organisational skills by planning and organising sessions and programmes to meet individual’s needs and guide their development. I have also worked as Personal Assistant with 3 young adults with with Downs Syndrome and a range of additional needs from October 2014 to January 2018, helping the young people access stimulating recreational and sports activities, ensuring they carried out activities safely, and acting as a motivational role-model, providing them with an understanding of what are acceptable modes of behaviour. I recognise the need for people in need to have continuity of care and therefore maintaining regular sessions of support and I am aware that good timekeeping and reliability are essential. I have successfully achieved an High School Diploma in Information Technology and I have a great passion for cinematography and post production work. I have been working in this industry for the past 5 years and I enjoy directing, filming and editing short films and documentaries. I use my IT skills daily in my current job to communicate with colleagues, management and other different multidisciplinary teams, review and update care plans, completing mandatory training courses etc. I am now keen to apply my skills and experience to a new challenge.  Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about how I can put my skills to work for you. Giuseppe
