Download the Curam Carer app, create an account, complete your profile and book an online video verification call with one of our friendly recruitment team
When you have almost completed your carer profile a green banner will show in the carer app allowing you to book a video call with one of our recruiters You can choose a time that is convenient to you between 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
Your verification call will be conducted via WhatsApp video call (alternative methods can be arranged).
You can find work via the Curam platform by downloading the app, completing your application and organising a verification call.
Once approved, your profile will go live on the platform and you can either wait for people who are looking for a carer in your area to get in touch with you, or you can apply for jobs via our jobs board. We will also automatically send you notifications of suitable new jobs in your area as soon they are posted
We have clients active in every post code area in the UK. You can see some of the jobs available in your area on our jobs board. However, over two thirds of clients choose to search and message carers directly via the platform instead of posting on the jobs board. Therefore, even if you cannot see any jobs near you, there still will be clients looking at your profile once you are approved.
No, however you do need to be self-employed to operate and transact with clients via the platform. You can register as either a sole trader, limited company or an LLP. Find out more about how to become self-employed in our carer helpdesk.
Congratulations! We are sure it will be the first of many. Before starting with a client, you must create a service agreement to outline the care that you and your client have agreed on. You should also ask the client to approve your invoice before the shift begins.

Please note if you start with a client before creating a service agreement and shift invoice you will not be insured, and your payments are not guaranteed; therefore, it is particularly important that you do so.
Clients pay your invoices via their Curam account. Payments are processed by Mangopay – the secure payment processor we use. You will have to set up your own Mangopay account via the Curam platform before you start contracting with a client.
If the client pays by card, payment is released to the carer two working days after the shift ends. If the client pays by BACS, this could take a further 5 working days but is usually less.
We are offering a selection of completely free CPD training courses to all approved Curam carers. Once you’ve completed the registration process, you’ll be emailed an invite to set up your free Qintil training account. You can then access a selection of free CPD courses, across a range of relevant subjects to help you enhance your expertise and care with confidence. For each course you complete, you’ll receive a printable certificate and CPD points and these will appear on your Qintil record of achievement.
Yes - as a self-employed carer on the Curam platform, you set your own rates.
However, we insist that care workers do not earn less than the London Living Wage, which means that your advertised rate must be a minimum £12.80 per hour or £700 per week.
No. We provide free carer’s insurance to every carer who transacts via the Curam platform. This insurance is provided by Surewise and covers:
There is no excess nor any hidden fees. The insurance is only valid for the hours you transact with a Curam client and you must have created a service agreement and a valid shift invoice to start the insurance cover.
A micro-team is a carer support network that allows you to find other Curam carers in your local area. You can search for and add other carers to your team in the Curam app:
The micro-team is a great place to go if you want to chat with other self-employed carers and receive support and advice from like-minded carers in your area. You might want to consider creating a micro-team for when you are unavailable or off sick. You can suggest the members of your micro-team to your client as a form of cover. The client always has the choice of the carer they wish to hire.
