I am quite confident in providing all aspects of personal...More I am a mature dedicated live-in carer with 23 years care experience 14 of which have been in live-in care positions. I have worked in nursing and residential care homes and also have worked with people with learning and physical disabilities. I am quite confident in providing all aspects of personal care to the elderly whose ability to do so themselves is limited by their own state of health. I have a compassionate and patient approach to my work and believe in promoting independence where and when possible. I endeavour to base my work on a person centred approach offering choices and involvement in their day to day care while making sure dignity is maintained at all times. I have expertise in various areas including PEG feeding, Catheter care, early stage dementia and physical disabilities. I really enjoy my work more so knowing someone has entrusted me with a great responsibility to care for them. I am reliable and trustworthy and like to follow routine for the benefit of the client. I have NVQ2 in care and am up to date in my mandatory training. I am HMRC registered self-employed carer and I am insured. I have good communication skills and can speak fluent Shona (Zimbabwe). I am quite flexible and can adapt well to new environments. I enjoy listening to gospel music and doing church activities and watching real life documentaries. I like doing puzzles and word games and when time allows I do a bit of knitting and sewing. I have a clear DBS and am willing to travel any distance for a live-in position. I would prefer six week placement with perhaps a week or two break in between. For more local day care or similar I would travel up to an hour from my home ( WV 14) and would prefer not to work on a Sunday. I would not want to work in a home where people are smoking and would prefer not to work where cats and dogs are present.
