I have 17 years experience in care and have worked as a home carer, live in carer in which I supported a disabled student at University. I have worked in nursing and residential homes providing care to elderly residents with various conditions including dementia Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s and motor neurone disease. During this time I developed a great understanding of these conditions and I am a great companion for care and good communicator. I have also worked for an Agency in general hospitals, community hospitals and hospices around Surrey. This gave me some experience in stroke patients and their rehabilitation. Over the year I have worked for Surrey county council as a support worker looking after young adults with a learning disability and rose the position of senior support worker in 2015 a position. I later decided to join the district nurses in Staines , during this time I worked under the supervision of a senior nurse visiting patients in their homes for wound care and daily dressings. I have worked for the local hospice providing care for patients with life limiting conditions and supported their families up to end of life. My role involve supporting patients on a waking night while their families take a rest. I had direct contact with the night nurses should any medical intervention be required overnight. I appeared in the Woking hospice online magazine telling my story and the support I give my patients . I am a good listener and treat my clients with respect and dignity while meeting their needs. I have completed my NVQ 3 Diploma in health and social care along with my Level 3 in palliative care. I enjoy watching television and love cooking and taking walks in my spare time. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I look forward to hearing from you, Wilson.
