My hobbies are meeting people, playing volleyball, reading, cooking, spending time with family, and watching rugby. I've been a carer for just over 12 years now. I've worked mainly in care homes, nursing homes, and community work. My work involves continence care, support with medication administration, meal planning and preparation, help with chores, and assisting clients with day-to-day activities. I have worked with clients who have Dementia, COPD, strokes, Parkinson's Disease, PEG feeding, catheter care, palliative care, and stoma care. I completed my Access to Nursing and studied Access to Health, Wellbeing, and Social Science at Edinburgh College.
I am a compassionate carer with empathy. I am able to connect with clients in order to help them effectively. I have a good understanding of the emotions a client may face as they navigate new realities. My preference is for live-in positions, ideally two weeks on and one week off at a time; however, this is flexible depending on clients' needs and locations. If live-in positions are not available, I am open to days, nights, waking nights, and sleepovers in local areas. I prefer to work with clients in Scotland, but I don’t mind travelling further, again depending on what is available.
I speak fluent English and do not mind looking after pets. I already have a PVG certificate.
