With 20 years as British Airways as cabin crew, mainly looking after First and Club Class passengers, I developed a strong sense of responsibility, discretion, organisation and attention to detail. Today, I bring those same qualities to private care, alongside genuine warmth, patience and a practical, hands-on approach.
I have experience across private homes and residential care, including full training in a care home with Hoisting etc, I have supported clients with a range of needs, including dementia, diabetes, etc Most recently, I spent three years providing live-in care for a lady with dementia, supporting her with consistency, dignity and compassion as her needs changed.
My role often goes beyond caring for one person. I have coordinated care teams and managed rotas for years, organising cover, planning changeovers and helping ensure continuity of care(24/7 365 days) I understand how important it is for families to have someone dependable who can see the bigger picture, anticipate problems and help keep everything running smoothly.
I am particularly adaptable when circumstances change. Where possible, I can help accommodate emergency cover, extend a placement when extra support is needed, or discuss shortening an arrangement if circumstances require it. I understand that care needs do not always follow a neat timetable, and I do my best to find practical solutions while maintaining continuity and high standards.
I also bring strong household-management and organisational skills. I take pride in keeping a home clean, comfortable and well organised, managing day-to-day routines and making sure the little things are not overlooked. My aim is to make life easier for both my client and their family, while respecting the client’s independence, privacy and individual preferences.
I offer live-in care and longer/short/emergy placements in particular, as well as hourly care (minimum four hours). I am also happy to travel as a companion within the UK or abroad, with any additional travel-related fees agreed in advance.
I am DBS-checked, fully vaccinated, have up-to-date care certificates, and am a car owner and driver with appropriate insurance. Outstanding references are available.
If I am unavailable, I may also be able to recommend a trusted colleague from my small, carefully chosen Curam network, helping families explore alternative cover where possible.
For me, good care is about much more than completing a list of tasks. It is about trust, consistency, initiative and treating someone else’s home and loved one with the same care and respect I would want for my own family.
