OL16 1ST 8252 I believe caring for others has to come naturally, I was brought up by my paternal grandmother already in her 70s, helping her around with small things like picking something on the floor, handing it to her , giving her a drinks etc . As she progressed with age, I was also becoming a young woman,I could realise she was getting tired and I would offer to do anything for her, so I became a Carer without knowing. I loved reading novels and my grandmother enjoyed listening to me read out loud ,it became our Saturday night activity as I wouldn’t be going to school the following day. On Sundays we would walk to church and back for the fact that granny believed in keeping her muscles moving . Walking with my grandmother taught me to listen as she always had a tale to tell, Sundays became my favourite days as I was always looking forward to listening to another story. When I became a Professional Carer , that’s when I realised how much my childhood impacted in my life, I empathise with everyone I care for, I listen to them and participated in any activities they enjoy. Caring for elderly or anyone who needs my help gives me a purpose in life. In my spare time I like to exercise ,cook, watch movies or read. I have been a Professional Carer for the past nine years, cared for individuals with Dementia, Parkinson's,Epileptic,Physical disabilities ,COPD, Stroke,Palliative care. Started caring in a Nursing home for two and a half years ,moved to Supported living with young adults transitioning to adulthood from 2010 to 2015 . 2015 - 2017 worked with The Good Care Group as a Live-in Professional Carer supporting elderly with various conditions in their own homes. August 2017 my aunt had a stroke and I had to give up work and care for her. October 2018 she passed away, November 2018 I started working with Elder Care as a Live in Carer supporting elderly. As a Carer I have acquired various certificates including, Care Certificate, First Aid,Moving and Handling, Mental Health awareness Level 2 to mention a few. I’d like to believe that I am a great Carer as everyone I’ve cared for has given my employer a really good feedback about my work, as a trained Carer I believe in person centred care, we are all different and our needs are different, everything I do with anyone I seek permission and let them know what I wish to do. In addition I’m very flexible , committed , trusted and reliable individual. {"field_care_type_first":"0","field_care_type_second":"0","field_care_type_third":"0","field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_care_type_seven":"0"}

I make sure to take good care of them because that is full time job . I am here to assist those who haven’t any type of family or friends who can take care of them in their crucial health issues time, Caring has now been my profession for 2 year. As a Palliative and End of Life P/A I fill the gaps in care which have become very apparent to me these past few years. This service supports people from their time of diagnosis right through to having their wish to die at home fulfilled as practicably as possible or simply supports them for as long as they wish to stay at home prior to going into hospice or a care home. I take on more of the care role as a PA including personal/intimate care which is not part of my remit as a doula. Supporting someone who is dying is hard. Very hard. And I'm here to alleviate some of that stress and make the time you do spend with your person more about quality and less overwhelming. I know how difficult it can be to find good quality, reliable carers so I hope that people can also see beyond my end of life skills and see how they are adaptable and beneficial to a variety of people needing care at home. My experiences range from working in both adult and children's hospice as well as a P/A so I have a range of experiences including supporting people with COPD, Motor Neurone Disease and brain injury. As an End of life Doula I serve as a non-medical practitioner, supporting you and your loved ones as you navigate your end of life experience. I make myself available to assist a dying individual and, typically, the family before, during, and after a death occurs in order to provide physical, emotional, psychological, and even spiritual support. I complement systems already in place, allowing caregivers to feel well supported and those living remotely the assurance that their loved-one is well supported. You can bring an End of Life Doula on board whether you are being cared for at home, care home, hospice or hospital. First and foremost an End of Life Doula is a grounding, reliable, knowledgeable, comforting and reassuring presence during an emotional time. I provide knowledge of the death process and a compassionate resource for families who may be overwhelmed and grieving. I advocate for you. I will meet you where you are and assist with developing a cohesive plan which honours all who are involved. Whether supporting as a P/A or as an End of Life Doula at the heart of my ethos is that there's still a lot of living to do. I’m fully insured both as a doula and PA and have an Enhanced DBS on the update service. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"1, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"1, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"1, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"1, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"1, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"1, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":"1, 3"}
