Born in Preston, Lancashire Faith: C OF E Educated to NVQ 4/ HNC standard. Hobbies and Interests: Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Angling and Cooking & Gardening. Caring experience. I began caring at the beginning of the Corona Virus lockdown having assessed my portable skills as a salesperson and understanding the growing need for care in society. The thought being my communication and people skills would be highly transferable. I underwent in-house training with Cherish UK to provide community care where I provided care for a very wide range of service users. My role was to assist service users in their daily routines enabling them to overcome the challenges their specific conditions presented. The role was very diverse as I supported service users with Parkinson’s, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospital reablement and mobility support needs clients. I assisted and supervised the taking of all medications other than warfarin and palliative medicines such as morphine where I was usually supported a Macmillan Nurse. I found the time needed to provide pertinent care in this environment was compromised and felt that I needed to be allowed more time to provide much person centred care as this role was largely hampered by the time it took to travel from client to client. On the plus side it does provide a very intense and varied experience and how to deal with emergency situations, working with first responders and paramedics frequently. More recently I have moved into residential care where I have been working with Alzheimers, Dementia and Parkinsons sufferers assisting them with all aspects of their daily routines. In this environment I have been able to build some good one to one relationships with many of the residents and I have become very popular with both male and female residents as I actively support and promote their choices and care for them exactly as though they were my dear relatives. I provide personal and continence care for these people as well as assisting with mobility and I am a strong advocate for them promoting their needs and wants and actively enabling them. Naturally I have kept up with all CQC guidelines on care provision and I constantly keep my training and care knowledge up to date. Personality Profile I am a very transparent, empathetic and caring person who is implicitly trustworthy and I have a very strong sense of fairness. I love all animals and love seeing all living things thrive whether human, animal or vegetable. I have faith and would be happy to accompany any individual to their place of worship if that is something they would like to do. Likewise I am highly tolerant of agnostic, atheists and those with non-Christian beliefs too. My mantra is “every day is a schoolday.”
