Originally a Northerner, I was born and bred in Leeds; West Yorkshire, however, I have lived in the South of England for several years, by the South East Coast. I am of Kashmiri/Pakistani descent. Although I have moved back to Leeds now, I continue to work across the United Kingdom (Love driving!) I started working in Healthcare in 2011. Having a naturally caring nature, the first week into my role as a Support Worker, I was convinced this was the field I best suited at the time. Having worked with a number of organisations, I set out to start working freelance in 2017. This allowed me to connect with people on a more personal level and provide a much higher level of care and support. Much of what I have gained in experience, has come from primarily understanding life from the perspective of the person whom I am supporting. This mindset has shaped the ethos I developed at the very beginning, and maintain until now. I completed the Access to Nursing and Healthcare Professions in 2016. Whilst studying, I had the opportunity to work in a Mental Health Unit and since, this is something I am deeply passionate about. Currently, I continue to make a difference to those whom I work with, and contribute to their life with high standards of Care and Support, no less than that which I would expect for my loved ones. I have experience in the following areas within Healthcare: - Cerebral Palsy - Muscular Dystrophy - Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) - Epilepsy - Chronic Pain - Fibromyalgia - Sciatica - Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) - Non-Verbal Disabilities - Diabetes - Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) - Dementia; Alzheimer's Disease - Downs Syndrome - Neurological Diseases; Parkinson's Disease - Stroke (Ischaemic and Hemorrhagic) - Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) - Motor Neurone Disease (MND) - Osteoarthritis / Rheumatoid Arthritis - Addiction and Substance Abuse - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Bipolar Disorder - Panic Disorder - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Depression - Anxiety Disorders - Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - Coronary Artery Disease; Heart Disease - Cancer - Osteoporosis - Peripheral Neuropathy - Huntington's Disease - Menapause - Eating Disorder - Psychiatric Disorders; Schizophrenia - Depression / Anxiety - Behavioural Difficulties - Visual/Hearing Impairments - Speech & Language Disorders - Providing Companionship / Social Visits - PA / Mental Health Support Worker - Emotional and Physical Support - End of life Care My Hobbies and Interests are as follows: Hobbies: - Reading - Photography/Landscapes/Nature - Travelling (Especially Overseas) Interests: - Languages - Charity Work - Writing - Exploring different places - Meeting people from different walks of life _________________________________________ *** Regarding Shifts and Invoices - *** Last minute requests (less than 24hrs notice) for Hourly, Daily or Overnight shifts will be at invoiced at the Emergency Rate set out in my Profile. Farha deserves to win carer of the month as she is amazing kind caring and funny. She holds a great conversation and I'd definitely recommend her. She is a credit to your company extremely understanding and helpful. She takes on board my disability and my children are grateful knowing I'm safe in her care. Xx
