Having worked as a carer since 2001, I am highly experienced in working with adults with varying support needs such as those with: learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, autism, alzheimer's disease and dementia. I am proficient in: medication administration, providing companionship, manual lifting, catheter care and use of hoist/other moving and handling equipment. I am a highly skilled cook and enjoy trying new recipes with both family and clients.
I thoroughly enjoy the work I do as I love to see the positive impact my support has in empowering clients and improving their quality of life. I am an avid sports fan, in particular tennis, basketball and football and enjoy watching sport with family and friends. I also enjoy cooking for my family and playing crosswords, quizzes and board games. I enjoy travelling (pre-COVID-19) and in particular city breaks.
As a qualified trainer, I regularly provide mandatory induction courses/training for carers in: moving and handling, medication administration, adult support and protection/safeguarding and core skills. I hold a BA in Humanities and Social Science from the University of Edinburgh.

Tembe is very warm and friendly, caring and efficient, encouraging independence while offering help when needed. She also has a good sense of humour. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
