I come from an accounting background, but became a carer when my parents in South Africa became poorly. I needed to be able to go home to attend to them, and working as a carer gave me that opportunity. I have now been caring for 15 years, and I understand from both sides how it works. I care for my clients as if they were my parents. Dignity is top of my list, but from there, just having a bit of fun, laughter and a hug goes a long way. A reference is below.... Reference for Debbie Lund Debbie Lund worked as a live-in Carer for my friend Helen Cockman from 28th June 2019 to 5th September 2019. Debbie was self employed and came to us through an agency. Helen has pulmonary fibrosis is on an oxygen machine and confined to bed. Debbie settled in remarkably quickly and got on very well with Helen. Debbie ran the household, shopped, cooked etc. as well as nursed Helen. Helen lives in a fairly isolated village so Debbie had to drive Helen's car to go on errands. Debbie proved to be a good and careful driver. I found Debbie always cheerful and very caring. Helen is showing early signs of dementia and Debbie was always very patient with her answering the same questions repeatedly. Debbie is a good cook and made sure that Helen had nutritious meals. Having Power of Attorney for Helen I am responsible for Helen's financial affairs. I found Debbie very competent in dealing with money and totally honest. I have no hesitation in recommending her to you.
