I bring a wealth of experience, having dedicated over 30 years to paediatric nursing in the NHS, predominantly in oncology and palliative care. I am now having a change in career and working with adults. I have just completed an Adult Social Care course. My time spent supporting children and their families through challenging times has instilled in me a deep understanding of the importance of compassion and person-centered care. Respect, dignity, and kindness are so important when given the privilege of caring for an individual in their own environment. I am committed to promoting dignity and independence and to providing assistance in achieving personal goals. My personal interests include gardening, travel, history, films, and geography, and I can be easily talked into a game of backgammon and a jigsaw! My dedication to making a positive difference has been acknowledged throughout my career through positive feedback, including a personal letter of thanks from a Chief Executive for going that extra mile during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have recently completed a Level 2 Adult Social Care course, which is Ofqual-regulated. Due to retirement, I am no longer on the NMC register.
