I began my journey as a Support Worker in a care home, where I quickly discovered how rewarding it was to make a positive difference in people’s lives and support them in the way they wanted to be supported. Since then, I have progressed through a variety of roles including Practitioner, Team Leader, Manager, Senior Manager, and Quality Consultant, always focusing on delivering and developing high-quality, person-centred services. Alongside my professional experience, I have personal experience as a family carer. For the past two years, I cared for a loved one in my own home who was living with advanced dementia and a terminal heart condition. I supported them through to end-of-life care, ensuring they remained comfortable, dignified, and surrounded by love. This experience deepened my understanding of the importance of compassion, patience, and truly listening to what matters most to the person receiving support. I have extensive experience supporting both young people and adults with complex needs. I pride myself on being patient, calm, caring, and approachable, with excellent interpersonal skills. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live life to the fullest, at their own pace, and I am passionate about helping people achieve their personal goals, maintain their independence, and enjoy meaningful experiences. Currently, I work as an inspector within the care sector, giving me a strong understanding of quality care, best practice, and regulatory standards. My qualifications include SVQ Level 3 and 4, an HNC in Social Care, and a Management Diploma. I have also worked as a consultant supporting care services to improve quality and develop staff skills. Outside of work, I am a proud grandparent and love spending time with my family, who truly put a spring in my step. I enjoy the outdoors, cycling, wild swimming, walking, and going to the theatre. I also love animals and share my home with two cats and a dog. One of the most humbling experiences of my life was travelling to Sri Lanka to support an orphanage, which reinforced my belief in the power of kindness, connection, and community. I am highly organised, reliable, and committed to going above and beyond to ensure that the people I support receive the very best care. My goal is always to provide compassionate, person-centred support that respects individual wishes, promotes independence, and helps people achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
