I genuinely love this work because it’s about seeing the person first – listening to what matters to them, understanding their strengths and goals, and helping them grow in confidence and independence every single day. Whether it’s through person-centred care plans, emotional support, or just being a steady, positive presence, I’m committed to treating everyone with the respect and dignity they deserve.
My specialist skills come from a wide range of roles, including senior night shift leadership where I’ve assessed needs for up to 15 residents at a time, written and reviewed care plans, delivered behavioural and emotional support, administered medication safely, and coordinated everything from medical appointments to fun community outings. I’m confident in first aid, safeguarding, multidisciplinary teamwork, and creating supportive environments that feel safe and empowering. I also really enjoy planning and joining in everyday activities like baking, shopping, cinema trips, housekeeping, and skill-building tasks that help people feel more connected and capable.
What makes me a great Care Professional is my calm, patient nature and my belief that real progress happens when people feel truly heard and valued. A typical day with me might start with warm morning (or evening) check-ins, supporting personal care and daily routines, joining in activities that build life skills and confidence, accompanying clients to doctors or dentists when needed, and making sure every handover is clear so the team stays on the same page. I always make time to celebrate small wins and adapt to whatever the day brings.
