I started working as carer for an agency, supporting clients in their own homes alongside supporting my own brother who has required significant support due to fluctuations with his mental health. I have worked in various settings throughout my career; hospitals, nursing homes, community and employed by numerous companies. Over recent years, I have been registered self employed as a personal assistant enabling and encouraging independence for clients with MS and with a lady who had complex needs due to a brain tumour with secondary conditions such as autism, learning difficulties and regular seizure activity. I worked at the ambulance service for more than 10 years in a managerial position undertaking recruitment, validating expenses and performing assurance checks. Alongside this role, I looked after family members providing dementia care, end of life care and supporting a family member who struggles to undertake activities of daily living due to COPD. Also, I am a reiki and reflexology practitioner and provide treatments to patients with MS. I am a mature student at university undertaking a degree in Occupational Therapy. I love to learn, improve my skills and enjoy training in new areas. In my spare time, I have a very needy chihuahua who loves to spend time with me out on walks or cuddled by my side. He is my little shadow and does not like sharing my attention with his other furry siblings (my cats). I am described as hard working, attentive and someone who always goes above and beyond. I love to solve problems and will always try and find a solution! Unfortunately, I do not cover overnight, live in or weekends due to my current workload and personal commitments. I do have availability to cover some evenings and happy to support with short notice care. I have access to a vehicle which has business insurance. Please feel free to get in touch should you be interested in my availability as a carer. I will look forward to hearing from you!
