This job required a number of key skills, e.g., keeping financial records, up-to-date diary records, ensuring health and safety in the workplace, dispensing of medicines, and supporting individuals with various disabilities in their home. This was a full-time post. I gained many new skills, including moving and handling. Also assisting the individual with their everyday needs and activities, whether that was attending a medical appointment or just getting out for exercise and a change of scenery.
I feel I am relaxed and easy to get along with. I am able to prioritise work and problem solve well. I can work as part of a team but also just as good on my own. I found the work challenging and rewarding.
I enjoy many different social activities such as walking/rambling driving and visiting places. I also enjoy sports and playing the guitar, keeping my mind and hands busy learning new skills.

Brian has supported me in the care of my husband since June 2022 until my husbands dementia progressed so much that he entered a care home recently. Brian is warm, caring, gentle and patient regardless of any circumstance. Supportive of myself as well as my husband. he is totally trustworthy and I had no reservations about going out and leaving him in my home with my husband. I have no hesitation in recommending Brian as a carer. sorry to lose his input, but we do keep in touch.
