In my NHS role, I supported patients with personal care, observations, mobility, documentation, clinic preparation, and working closely within a multidisciplinary team. This helped me develop strong clinical awareness, good communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
I currently work in a care home supporting residents living with dementia. This has strengthened my patience, empathy and understanding of person-centred dementia care. I support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, nutrition, mobility, emotional reassurance and managing behaviours that may challenge, always promoting independence where possible. I understand the importance of routine, reassurance and building trusting relationships with residents and their families.
A day with me as a Care Professional would involve providing safe, compassionate care, encouraging independence, communicating clearly with families, and ensuring every person feels valued, heard and respected. I am hardworking, adaptable and genuinely passionate about caring for others, which I believe makes me a strong Healthcare Assistant.
