I began my journey into care when my grandfather was diagnosed with dementia. Supporting him and my family through the emotional, physical, and practical challenges of his condition gave me first-hand insight into the importance of compassionate, patient-centred care. This experience shaped my values and inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
I have now worked in the care sector for over 14 years, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including dementia, mental health challenges, and complex behaviours. Throughout my career, I have developed strong skills in communication, empathy, safeguarding, and person-centred support. I pride myself on building trusting relationships with those I care for, promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life at all times.
Alongside my practical experience, I hold a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Criminal Psychology. My academic background has strengthened my understanding of human behaviour, mental health, trauma, and risk assessment. This allows me to approach care with a reflective, analytical mindset while remaining compassionate and non-judgemental. I am particularly skilled at understanding behaviours that challenge, responding calmly, and tailoring support to each individual’s emotional and psychological needs.
What continues to motivate me in care is the opportunity to advocate for vulnerable individuals and ensure they feel valued, safe, and understood. I am dedicated, reliable, and emotionally resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting others. Caring is not just my profession—it is a vocation shaped by lived experience, knowledge, and a deep respect for the people I support.
