I am an experienced carer with over five years of experience. I have worked in care homes, domiciliary/community settings, and in private 24-hour live-in care. A day with a client as a carer begins with me greeting them with a smile and a positive attitude, introducing myself, and asking how they are doing. Depending on the day, I start by assisting clients with all aspects of personal care while maintaining their dignity. This includes dressing and undressing, making breakfast, lunch or dinner, and assisting them with their meals. I also promote their medication adherence. It gives me great satisfaction to make a difference in people's lives. It is paramount to respect clients regardless of their background, disability, or health condition. I work around my clients' needs, always providing a person-centred approach and adapting to each client to ensure their needs are met safely and within their care plan. Having common interests, such as playing board games, singing, or cooking fresh meals, creates a positive experience for both the client and me. Once I learn their routine, I do my best to maintain it, completing routine tasks to the best of my ability and dealing with any emergency situations calmly and professionally. I am organised, self-disciplined, and highly motivated, ensuring tasks are completed effectively. I strive to provide the best care and create a positive experience. **Skills:** Catheter care, PEG feeding as directed by doctors, assisting clients with dementia, mental health issues, challenging behaviours, and autistic clients. I am experienced in hoist operation, moving, and handling. **Qualities:** I am empathetic, kind, reliable, patient, and resilient. I am able to work under pressure. Having a friendly personality and a wonderful sense of humour helps me leave clients feeling great and happy. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks in the park, sightseeing, visiting the beach, jogging, travelling, exploring new places of interest, and going to museums. Currently, I am learning to drive and hope to pass my test in the summer. Until then, I am looking for clients who can offer longer hours of more than six hours in a block period or night shifts.
