I have been a carer since I was a young girl I used to look after my brother who had schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and as I grew older I would help anyone especially the elderly, however It wasn't until my husband was diagnosed with lewy body dementia, emphysema and Osteoporosis, that I really got into caring full time. As time went on I started to fully comprehend everything that came along with having someone you love get worse right in front of your eyes and feeling powerless to stop it. Unfortunately, my daughter became another patient of mine as she too fell ill. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Rheynauds and Facet Joint Arthritis along with Anxiety and Depression. I suppose when it rains it pours but I will say that going through the process of caring for my family I saw how strong and resilient people are and that's when I realised that I want to help people on their journey for the rest of my life.
