My aim is to ensure that clients in my care are as happy and comfortable as possible. I am available to provide care during the day, at night, and for short-term live-in care.
I am trained in dementia care, moving and handling, first aid, end-of-life care, oral health care, safeguarding, wound care, hazard risk, the Mental Capacity Act, COSHH, equality, diversity and inclusion, and medication management.
My first job was at a care home, where I cared for residents who suffered from dementia, including those who were bed-bound and in end-of-life care. I stayed there for seven months before deciding to work in domiciliary care. I really enjoyed going from home to home caring for individuals in their own environments. After that, I signed up with an agency and worked in nursing homes as required.
During that time, I was also a live-in carer, which I loved, as the one-on-one interaction is something I find very important. It not only benefits me, but it also ensures that the clients I care for are happy, content, and feel safe.
I am a very kind, caring, and compassionate person who can be silly and has a funny sense of humour, but I can also be serious and professional when needed. I am a good listener and love to hear all about my clients, should they wish to talk about their lives or any worries and concerns they may have.
My hobbies include crafts (although I have only watched programmes about crafts so far), but I am very keen to learn. I love gardening, walking, watching movies, documentaries, gardening programmes, and wildlife, and I spend a lot of time with my family. I also enjoy cooking and can prepare a wide range of foods.
I have a full driving licence. I am also a smoker.
Thank you.

Sarah has been professional, tactful to other carers and generally popular with the other people here. She stepped into the breach to look after my 96 year old mother who needs professional and personal support for moving and for general care. Sarah is a very welcome addition to the team.
