Having cared for my grandmother and being a mother have made me realise we all need help at one time in our lives, especially being able to support someone and enable them to live happily in the comfort of their own homes. I have 9 years of experience in caring for people with disabilities, dementia and other long term illnesses. I am very patient and a good listener. I believe it is really important to promote someone’s independence. My duties include : -Personal care -Medicine support -Respite visits -Trips out for appointments, shopping and walks -Cooking together -Companionship -Games and puzzles and other household tasks. It is important to me to build a trusting relationship with my clients so I put their privacy and respect for their personal space at the centre of my work . I believe in working together with my clients by making sure their care needs are met and I also work alongside other carers in my community, hence my clients will always have trusted carers to cover any emergencies, holiday cover and sickness.
