I qualified in Social Work and practiced in various fields whilst raising a family, and later changed roles to work primarily with older adults delivering care whilst enabling service users to remain in the own homes. I am experienced in working alongside other care professionals and similarly practicing 1:1 lone working. I particularly enjoy empowering people to make decisions about their own care needs and how this is delivered and for them to retain as much independence as possible whilst living in a home environment with the support of a professional. I have a particular interest in Dementia Care and have been involved in supporting individuals with varying diagnosis. I am also experienced in pallaitive care , having had both personal experience and working professionally with people needing end of life care. I have maintained regular training and keep abreast of changes in health and social care provision generally . My hobbies and interests include , cooking , reading and enjoying being in nature . I like the outdoors , gardening especially. I also enjoy current affairs, theatre, museums. I am looking for regular clients where I can offer 1 weeks live in care per month, I will have my availability updated regularly. I am happy to travel within a 200 miles radius of Newport as long as travelling expenses are covered 1 way by my future clients. When delivering live in care I prefer to having a settling in period and I can be flexible on my period of breaks that I take. On the 3 weeks I am not providing live in cover I am looking for hourly clients covering 10/20 hours per week within a 5 miles radius of the Newport area.
