...MoreI am a compassionate, reliable, and experienced carer with over three years of hands-on experience supporting adults with a wide range of care needs. I have worked in both live-in and day care roles, providing person-centred support that prioritises dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
My experience includes caring for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, visual impairment and blindness, reduced mobility, and those who are bedbound or wheelchair users. I am confident with full personal care, hoisting and transfers, catheter and stoma care, pressure area care, medication support, meal preparation, companionship, and supporting daily routines. I also have experience supporting clients with anxiety and complex needs, adapting my approach to suit each individual.
I pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships not only with the people I care for but also with their families. Communication is very important to me, and I always ensure families feel reassured, informed, and involved. I am still in contact with several families I no longer work with, which I feel reflects the level of trust and genuine care I bring to my role.
A typical day with me would include supporting personal care at a comfortable pace, preparing nutritious meals, encouraging mobility or gentle exercises where appropriate, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing companionship through conversation, activities, or outings. I am attentive, patient, and calm, and I always take time to understand each client’s preferences, routines, and personality.
I am currently seeking part-time work and am flexible, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality care that helps people feel safe, respected, and supported in their own homes.
