During my career I have worked in various social care environments, and my most recent role is a live-in carer. I really enjoy supporting people on a one to one basis, because it allows me to spend more time with them, build a good relationship and make difference in their lives.
My style I would say is quite patient and calm. I am thoughtful, good tempered and considerate of the clients feelings. I am able to communicate effectively even when people find it difficult to get their point across (e.g. Dementia, Alzheimer’s). I am honest, understanding and able to respond to requests in a sensitive and professional manner.
Throughout my career as a professional carer, I have worked with a multitude of people with different diagnosis, and am confident providing care for clients with Parkinson’s, MS, Dementia, stroke, diabetes, palliative and stoma care. Over the course of the years, I have come to know that every client is different so it is important to find the best way to help them live a fulfilled life.
I always ensure to maintain effective communication with my clients, their families and other health professionals who might be involved in the care process.
I am well organised, responsible and hard-working. I enjoy walking, reading, playing board games, cooking and keeping home neat and tidy.
