I was caring for a client who had just suffered a stroke and early dementia for almost 3 years, so I have very good experience with providing everyday jobs like grooming, personal hygiene and medication. I'm very passionate about my job and I've always been told that I'm driven in my work. Empowering the client to live their life as independently and as fully as possible is the most rewarding part of being a carer for me. I'm also patient, empathetic and I'll always ensure I focus on building a friendship with the client. Building that strong relationship will allow us to be more open and understanding with each other and also more trusting, which comes with being respectful, reliable and punctual. I will always respect a clients decisions, wants and needs as long as they'e safe. Over the years, I've realised the importance of initiative to continue developing myself professionally and learning the necessary skills that will improve the care I provide. I love cooking since I was a child and I am always cooking whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy volunteering which goes with my growing passion to help others and give back to the community. I also have a keen eye for design, so I knit sometimes and I'm fond of playing sports like football and badminton, which has helped me develop my teamwork skills. When I have time, I like to keep myself up to date by listening to the news and the radio when I'm in the car and investing time in useful programmes on the TV.

    Abrehet is a thoughtful and kind person, who knows how to let her clients shine - she is energetic and positive and encourages participation and independence as far as possible. She was the perfect carer for Dad, who enjoyed spending time with Abrehet - talking, going for walks, and enjoying home cooked food. My sister and I wish we’d found her sooner! Xxx
