I cared for a client who had recently suffered a stroke and early dementia for almost three years, so I have considerable experience in providing everyday tasks such as grooming, personal hygiene, and medication management. I am very passionate about my job, and I have always been told that I am driven in my work. Empowering the client to live their life as independently and fully as possible is the most rewarding part of being a carer for me. I am also patient and empathetic, and I always ensure that I focus on building a friendship with the client. Establishing a strong relationship allows us to be more open, understanding, and trusting with each other, which is founded on being respectful, reliable, and punctual. I will always respect a client's decisions, wants, and needs, as long as they are safe. Over the years, I have realised the importance of taking the initiative to continue developing myself professionally and learning the necessary skills that will enhance the care I provide. I have loved cooking since I was a child, and I cook whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy volunteering, which aligns with my growing passion for helping others and giving back to the community. Additionally, I have a keen eye for design; I knit sometimes and am fond of playing sports like football and badminton, which have helped me develop my teamwork skills. When I have time, I like to keep myself up to date by listening to the news and radio while I am in the car, and I invest time in useful programmes on television.

    Abrehet is a thoughtful and kind person, who knows how to let her clients shine - she is energetic and positive and encourages participation and independence as far as possible. She was the perfect carer for Dad, who enjoyed spending time with Abrehet - talking, going for walks, and enjoying home cooked food. My sister and I wish we’d found her sooner! Xxx
