My children have flown the nest, so I occupy my time doing what I love most—helping others whenever I have the opportunity. I am a dental nurse by profession, but I decided to pursue a different path in the care industry, looking after people with various ailments and gaining more experience. I enjoy trying new recipes, knitting, gardening, attending church as a Christian, and bringing a smile to someone’s face by doing the little things to improve another person's day. I also love to show that I care and to find potential ways to make a difference in someone's life. I have worked in nursing homes, residential homes, mental institutions, and Jewish colleges, and I have supported teenagers with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Additionally, I have worked with adults aged 18 to 100 in day care centres, both on day and night shifts. I have assisted clients suffering from spinal injuries in their own homes. I am quite independent, creative, and friendly, which helps me to be approachable. I have excellent communication skills and am very reliable. I have worked as a live-in carer for almost 15 years in total, and I thrive on helping service users remain in their own homes by providing them with the support and care they need. I have a strong desire to help others by showing empathy and compassion. I particularly enjoy working with older adults because they have so much to share about the past, including history and their experiences of growing up, comparing life then to today.
