My Care Experience I have extensive hands-on experience supporting clients with a wide range of complex care needs, including: • All stages of dementia, Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline • Mental health conditions • Parkinson’s disease • Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2) • Stroke rehabilitation and post-stroke care • Mobility challenges, use of equipment, and safe moving & handling • Incontinence care and continence management • Speech and vision impairment • Catheter care (support and monitoring) • Brain injuries and neurological conditions What I Do as a Live-in Carer In my role, I provide tailored support based on individual needs, which includes: • Supporting all aspects of personal care, including washing, bathing, grooming, dressing, continence care, and mobility support • Helping clients maintain excellent personal hygiene and a well-presented appearance, promoting dignity, confidence, and wellbeing • Household duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment • Meal planning and preparing healthy, personalised meals • Shopping, running errands, and managing household supplies • Encouraging social contact with family, friends, and community connections • Supporting hobbies, interests, social activities, and meaningful daily engagement • Liaising with GPs, district nurses, pharmacies, therapists, and other healthcare professionals • Monitoring and reporting any changes in health or wellbeing to ensure proactive intervention • Signposting and coordinating with relevant services to promote health, independence, and quality of life • Assisting with medication administration in line with care plans and professional guidelines • Safeguarding, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting a respectful and inclusive environment
