I have live-in experience caring for couples and individual clients. I always adhere to client care plans, promoting their independence while providing the support they need. I have good communication skills and can speak and write fluent English. I value listening attentively to my clients and their families, as this helps me to understand their needs and builds trust as I provide care. Over the years, I have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality care to my clients. For accountability, the prevention of errors, and continuity of care, I ensure that I document all the care I provide. I am flexible and open-minded, a fast learner, and can easily adapt to new environments and routines. I hold an active DBS and PVG for Scotland. Besides providing personal care to clients, I also have experience in: - Infection control - Food hygiene; I can cook fresh meals - Enteral feeding, which includes PEG, RIG, JEJ, and NG - Stoma care - Catheter care and female catheterisation - Nephrostomy/Urostomy - Wound care - Dementia care - Epilepsy management - End-of-life care - Post-operative care - Spinal and brain injury - Multiple sclerosis - Parkinson's disease - Palliative care - Diabetes monitoring and insulin administration - Medication administration - Moving and handling using hoists, Stedy, Zimmer frames, sliding sheets, and banana boards; I am keen to learn new equipment. I am currently looking for live-in clients, preferably regular ones, where I can establish good working relationships with my clients and their family members. When delivering live-in care, I prefer to have my two-hour break each day, where possible. I am happy to travel throughout the UK, covering Scotland, Wales, England, and Northern Ireland. If travelling over 30 miles to clients, travel expenses would need to be covered by my future clients both ways. Once I have a settling-in period with my clients, we can then discuss the length of care that I am happy to deliver. When I am not providing live-in care, I am also looking for a few night-time shifts, which can be one-off or regular clients.
