I am a sociable and friendly person. I have a particular passion for caring and like to use my knowledge and expertise from being in the Care and Education industry to support individuals with respect and dignity.
I have a wide range of experience supporting age categories from 3 months up to the elderly care. I have been a lecturer for the past 10years planning and delivering lessons, working across the Childcare and Healthcare department to support students to achieve their full potential and move on into employment.
I have delivered care in a compassionate and a person centred way by supporting clients with personal care, shopping and cooking. Occasionally acting as an advocate for clients who may have communication difficulty to ensure that their needs are met. I have a vast amount of experience in all stages of dementia having worked in various care homes supporting elderly residents living with dementia.
I have also supported young people and adults with learning disabilities towards independence, choice and inclusion to enable them to live a fulfilled life within the community. Having recently completed Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and Level 2 in Children and Young People’s Mental Health, I have developed skills in social relationships, empathy and trauma informed practice. All of my training is currently up to date, such as Safeguarding, Manual Moving and Handling, Administering Medication, Basic Life Support, Dementia care, Parkinson's and various others.
My hobbies are shopping, cooking, listening to music, walking along the river bank and dancing. I also love watching costume and period dramas, athletics, football and Formula 1(F1).
I am very much open-minded, flexible and adaptable to different situations and circumstances. I am always keen to learn new skills and take further training and courses for my continuing professional development but more importantly, to help my service user. Aside from the above skills and experience, I can offer companionship, PA and admin work. I can also work nights or twilight shifts starting late.
