In the Philippines, I graduated in with a bachelors’ degree in nursing (BSN) and worked as a licensed nurse at Hospital and Health Centre. I particularly enjoyed being able to help patients and working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals at all levels. In the UK, I worked as a volunteer support worker at Botton Village. The patients I worked and lived with were vulnerable adults with learning disabilities. Normally I would help them in their jobs, in workshops and in their general daily routines. I enjoyed my work here which was challenging and required considerable patience and understanding. I am well-organised and this proved necessary in the distribution of medication which was a part of my responsibilities. Most recently, I have worked as a live-in care provider in Gatley. For three and a half years, I worked with my client ensuring his comfort and safety and enabling him to live at home rather than being transferred to a care home. I was responsible for arranging his hospital appointments, for managing his medication, diet and his care schedule, including visits to doctors and hospitals.
