I cared for my grandparents in my country as an unpaid carer from the age of 10 until they both passed away in my early twenties. I came to live in London over 30 years ago and naturally worked in the care industry. I have worked with various client groups including the elderly who have dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, mental illnesses, physical disabilities, visual impairments, brain/spinal cord injuries, in nursing homes, residential and their own homes. I have also worked with young people with challenging behaviour who live in residential homes. For the last 12 years, I have worked as live-in carer with the elderly delivering care and support in an effective way that is safe, appropriate, that meets their needs and protects their rights. My interests are cooking, gardening, crosswords, theatre, cinema, music, travelling and keep fit.
