I have worked with people since leaving school, building strong relationships through trust, compassion, and genuine connection. My background in hospitality and customer-facing roles taught me the importance of kindness, patience, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Before moving into care, I worked for many years as a florist in Poland and later progressed quickly within retail in England, becoming the manager of a small family-run shop in Southbourne. I was deeply involved in the local community, and many of my regular customers were elderly. Through daily conversations, I built meaningful relationships and became aware of how important companionship, reassurance, and practical support are in later life. This inspired me to move into care. I began my care career as a support worker and live-in carer, providing one-to-one assistance and emotional support. I then joined Barchester Healthcare as a carer, where I received full professional training. After nine months, I was promoted to Activities Coordinator, recognising my strong interpersonal skills and commitment to improving residents’ quality of life. This role allowed me to understand individuals on a deeper level and create personalised activities that supported wellbeing, confidence, and independence. I chose to step away from a full-time care home role to focus on private, one-to-one care, where I believe I can make the greatest difference. I take time to truly get to know my clients — their routines, preferences, life stories, and what brings them comfort and joy. I believe small, thoughtful actions can have a powerful impact on someone’s daily life. I am a calm, positive, and reliable carer who uses common sense, empathy, and clear communication in every situation. I have strong organisational skills and adapt easily to each client’s needs, whether offering companionship, daily support, meaningful activities, or gentle encouragement to maintain independence. I am happy to support clients in their own homes and work closely with families to ensure peace of mind. I am also committed to ongoing training and professional development to continue growing as a carer. My aim is simple: to help people feel safe, valued, and supported — and to make each day a little brighter.
