I used to be a nurse abroad from 1987 to 2000. I have gained extensive experience working in hospital wards, looking after various clients in surgical wards, maternity, theatres, A&E, and mental health. I have been a carer in the UK for 16 years now. I have looked after elderly clients with conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, and mental health issues, as well as those with physical illnesses, e.g., stroke, MS, arthritis, and post-surgery (e.g., hip). I am trained to administer medication, PEG feeding, simple exercises, catheter care, and pressure sore care, to name but a few. I am in the process of updating my annual training.
I can do live-in work on a 2/3 week on and 1 week off rotation. I can also do 12-hour shifts, day or night, within a 5-mile radius.
I support every client as an individual, fulfilling their goals and aspirations.
I offer choice and maintain their privacy and dignity. I am flexible, and I pride myself on having good communication and interpersonal skills.
I am a sociable and empathetic person. I have a passion for cooking and enjoy trying out different recipes.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and travelling.
