I spent seven years with the NHS at Great Western Hospital, where I worked as a Health Care Assistant. I started in the Outpatients Department, supporting consultants in a wide range of clinics, before moving to the Acute Medical Unit. In addition, I was an active member of the GWH Nurse Bank, regularly undertaking shifts within the Emergency Department as well as working across multiple wards and departments, including, Stroke, Trauma, Gynaecology, Cardiac Unit, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, Urgent Care, and Oncology.
Since 2022, I have been working with a care agency, gaining experience across a variety of care settings. I have supported individuals with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries (SCI), acquired brain injuries (ABI), learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, mental health and those recovering from a stroke. I have also worked in supported living environments.
In 2024 I completed a Manual Handling Train the Trainer course.
For the past year, I have been providing dedicated support to a young lady with cerebral palsy.
