I currently live in France, where we are renovating a 17th-century farmhouse. I enjoy travelling and riding a motorcycle, and I have organised group trips away. I worked on the railway for 15 years, both on mainline and steam charter railways, serving as Chief Stewardess working out of Kings Cross, St Pancras, and Paddington stations.
I would describe myself as very caring, hard-working, and compassionate. I like to keep on top of basic housework in my clients’ homes. I have worked with clients in the early and late stages of dementia, stroke survivors, and end-of-life patients. I have all relevant and up-to-date training and qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 and 3, and I am fully vaccinated against Covid-19. As a liver transplant survivor (2018) of cancer, I must be vaccinated for my own protection as well as for my clients. I am a competent cook and understand basic dietary needs. I love to make a difference in my clients’ lives and their living comforts. Where possible, I like to take clients out for short trips to enhance their daily living experience. I particularly enjoy looking at old photos and learning more about the history of my clients, which helps me better understand their needs and well-being.
I prefer to do short-term cover, respite, covering a carer, and palliative care. I could be open to longer stints if needed.
