Through patient-centred care, I value compassion, trust and excellence. My roles and responsibilities as a carer include assisting with personal care, such as washing, dressing and undressing, using hoists, and providing medication prompting. I assist in the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of clients. I have worked with different clients with dementia, multiple sclerosis, stroke, cancer, Parkinson’s, spinal injury, and brain injury, as well as providing end-of-life (palliative) care.
