My name is Shelley and I started my career in care when I was 17 working in a nursery setting, I achieved my Level 2 in child care and education before moving in to residential care for adolescents aged 12-16 where I achieved my level 3 in social care. From this I moved to elderly care and have been working as a palliative carer for Alzheimer’s and dementia and cancer patients. I have two daughters who are aged 22 and 19 and I am also a young grandmother to two beautiful children. I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy going out for walks in the countryside, cooking various cuisines and listening to music. I am friendly and compassionate and take pride in caring for others. I recently worked privately for a family and I was the main care giver to a husband and wife who both sadly had Alzheimer’s and dementia, I cared for the wife right up to her last days then continued to care for her husband until his passing. The family became an extension of my own family which is what I love about my career path. I am a compassionate and experienced home carer with a passion for helping others. As a female carer with a wealth of experience in providing care to individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's Disease, bedbound patients, and those coping with anxiety and depression, I am dedicated to ensuring the well-being and comfort of those under my care. With a knack for providing personalized assistance in activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, catheter care, and emotional support through companionship, I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients. One of my key attributes as a carer is my ability to drive, and I am fortunate to own a car, enabling me to provide reliable transportation for my clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other activities. Beyond my professional skills, I bring a warm and friendly presence to my caregiving approach, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for those I care for. In my free time, I enjoy hobbies such as walking, playing card games, cooking and baking, decorating, and socializing with friends and loved ones, all of which contribute to my well-rounded approach as a carer. My motivation for caregiving stems from a deep-seated desire to help people lead independent and fulfilling lives, regardless of their physical or cognitive challenges. I take great pride in my role as a carer and find immense fulfillment in making a positive difference in the lives of those I care for. With a love for animals, including cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, and birds, I bring a nurturing and empathetic approach to my caregiving practice, ensuring that each individual receives the personalized care and attention

Excellent

Shelly was excellent with my parents - they both adored her which is no easy task with 2 people with very different needs (dad Altzeimers, mum bed bound). She was always prompt and happy to be flexible in her shift, professional and caring.

Excellent

Shelley has been amazing during the last 11 months. After my mum’s dementia diagnosis as a family we were finding it difficult to cope. Shelley has felt like a member of our family. She’s kind, friendly, caring and professional in all that’s she’s done both for my mum and our family. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a carer.
