In my own time I supported an elderly neighbour with light housework, gardening, walking her little companion dog, accessing the community, or just called in for a cup of tea and a chat. I also supported a friend who was a wheelchair user and accompanied him to fundraising and social events. Since my children have now all flown the nest, I have pursued my passion to work in care. I have worked previously as a rehabilitation support worker for people who have ABI (acquired brain injury}, and was working on an employed basis for the elderly in a care home setting for over two and a half years before going back to one-to-one support for individuals with ABI. I love to get to know the individuals I support and care for as this allows me to provide 'person centered' care in the true sense, and gain a deeper understanding of an individuals care needs. When I hear from residents or clients that I care for that "It is nice to receive care from someone who really cares', it just melts my heart and fills me with pride and fulfillment in what I do. I love animals and understand and appreciate how important companion animals can be, I know how important my dog is to my own happiness and wellbeing. I have a genuine interest in people, their welfare and dignity, and with a wide variety of interests I am usually able to find something to connect on some level with people from all walks of life. If you are looking for some support for yourself or a loved one, please get in touch, I would love to hear from you.

Excellent

Linda cared for my 93 year old mother three times a week in the evenings. She made sure she had her medication, chatted and gave her company, and always asked if she needed help with anything. She was punctual, polite, respectful and very kind. My mother looked forward to her visits, and I felt very reassured that Linda was checking on her. I thoroughly recommend Linda, she is a wonderful carer!
