I work with both children and adults, primarily in home care across Surrey and Greater London.
My focus is on supporting individuals with various disabilities and challenges that require assistance.
1. I work in both home care settings, providing support to individuals in their family homes or council-provided service homes and mental hospitals. This includes patients with autism, epilepsy, seizure disorders, challenging behaviors, mental health issues stemming from past trauma, eating disorders, psychosis, and more.
2. I also work in different NHS hospitals, mental health trust, maternity wards, where I support newborns who need safeguarding for various reasons, under the supervision of the council's safeguarding officer.
In my role, I perform safety interventions and help patients with their daily activities, which includes:
- Administering and managing medication as per doctors' instructions.
- Overseeing the inventory and ordering of supplies, including medication, food, and bedding.
- Monitoring and reporting any concerns to the team leader.
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Providing care according to detailed care and rehabilitation plans.
- Implementing safety interventions during crises.
3. I also work with children and adults who have brain injuries or physical disabilities and are non-mobile or non-verbal. I help them navigate their daily activities with ease, making their lives more manageable. This includes support with moving and handling, attending hospital appointments, and safely accessing the community, among other tasks.
